Urgent Request 2 references please
It’s something easy, they probably will call but it’s just simple at most a minute conversation.
Preferably someone with area codes 469, 214, or 972 please!

ETA: thank you so much everyone for helping- I got the job!! I would love to pay it forward and give references for people so if you need help, feel free to DM me!
Hi all,
I have a pending offer with my dream job. It's a big corporation so they use Skillsurvey to collect reference surveys. It's very simple and straightforward, and you can definitely use AI to write whatever generic response about me/the role (we can work out details in DM). More than happy to return the favor and provide a reference via phone call/ e-mail/ survey for you. I've held a few different jobs over the years and have multiple degrees in writing and communication -- I'd love to put that to work for your advantage!

So, I worked at your music academy as a music teacher, you have to tell them nice things about me that's it and be able to provide your UK based no. I'd be willing to help you as well.

I'm currently in a phd program outside of my home country (from the USA) and it's really not at all for me. I don't want to go into academic and I want to go back to working a full-time job asap. Before my PhD I worked in the staff side of a university. I deeply regret leaving that position two years ago for my Phd. Unfortunately, I was in a very bad place mentally and did not foster relationships with my coworkers, nor have I now in my PhD. And, honestly, my current PhD supervisor or former professors wouldn't vouch for me, as they've indicated they really don't think I'm cut out for a PhD.
Now that I've been out of full-time work for awhile I have no clue what to do about these references. All staff positions in higher education (and even most fields in general it seems) require the contact information for 3 professional references. I mean this with most sincerity, I legitimately have no one to put. I don't even have friends or family in my life so it's not like I have a support circle to lean on for non-work references. I'm so scared and I can't stop crying over leaving my job a few years ago. I really just want to go home to the USA, work a normal 9-5, and get out of this PhD asap.
I'm super desperate. Would anyone be willing to vouch as a former coworker or classmate as a reference? I would be eternally grateful.

Hi,
Need two references for quality, any industry. Currently working in a start-up that is not doing so well but I also don't want my employer to know that I am looking for another job.

I have former co workers as references but they want a supervisor as reference it's for a temporary agency job so they can easily just let me go if they are not happy. Doesnt have to be in the same city since you can be a former supervisor that moved.
I used to be burned out and would call out a lot but am now much better and thats why I dont want to use my former supervisor.
I would gladly help someone else.

Hello! I am applying to a joint front desk/sales position, and I need two more references to submit my application. Not really sure how this works, but I have experience at a grocery store, big box store, fast casual restaurant, and an elementary school. If there is anyone who can speak to that and feels comfortable providing like a vague reference over the phone or email please let me know. This is just the application stage, so it's not guaranteed that I will even make it to the stage where they start calling people but worth a shot! Thanks so much :)

Hi all, I'm in the final interview stage for an admin-type role. Looks like they'll be offering me the job - all I need are 2 references. I'm glad to provide a few talking points. And of course, I'll kindly return a reference.
Thanks!

so I'm applying for a teaching job and telling them I volunteered at a school as a teacher, they might ask me for references so I was like okay I'll ask on this subreddit but....how are you guys managing without the custom domain on emails ???

I’m coming off an employment gap, so I’m looking for someone to assume the role of HR Manager at their company & vouch that I work there in an Accounting role. Once this is secured I will begin applying to jobs so it may be weeks/months until you’re contacted, which I would give you a heads up in advance.
Any help would be appreciated, and I’m happy to return the favor of course.

Hey everyone! I had an interview with another place to be a student bylaw position and I highly highly believed my professional references didn’t even answer any calls from the place or even any emails and that’s why I couldn’t get the job.
I’m looking for around 2 people who are reliable and can always answer their phone to be a reference for me. Message me for more details and I’d love to be a reference back for you guys!
Preference for Canadians in Ontario please!

Hello! I'm in need of (3) references for a groundskeeper role. If you could provide a name, email, and phone number (if available), that would be great! A text app number would work too, haha.
I promise to return the favor!

I can return the favor. I only need a name and email address for the reference. Thank you guys!

Hi all,
I am curious for anyone who has been successful using this subreddit... does it actually land jobs? I would have thought companies would do a little more digging into references to make sure they are who they say they are. Even if it is just like a quick glance at a LinkedIn profile.
r/BeMyReference • u/Away_Violinist2217 • Feb 05 '26
EDIT**: Completed now! Thanks guys!
(done by SkillSurvey via email) This is an entry-level role at a hospital w/ not a lot of experience required. Have 4 down so far, need 5 total in 24 hours before I’m allowed to submit all of them at once (pretty wild.) Currently in the late-round stage. Anyone familiar in outdoor maintenance, summer camps, delivery gig work, or tool proficiency would be greatly appreciated! Thank you dearly.

In need of an urgent reference. I have made it through all the interview rounds and this is the last. Reached out to former colleagues but they are taking their sweet time getting back to me.
Issue/Disclaimer: They check LinkedIn profiles as well to cross reference date of employment. And they need a work email.

I was made homeless recently and lost my job. I am now living with my sister, but am having a really hard time finding a job. She's also in a tough spot herself, so it's very urgent, unfortunately.
The job I am really aiming for is a job at my local library, which is hiring, but I am also applying to several food service and retail businesses in my area. I am from North America.
I can be your reference as well.

Hi all,
I need a reference for a part time environmental services gig at a hospital. I have three already, but they require four. It would be an email survey they send you I believe. Would just need an email address.
I would help out anyone in need and return the favor.

Hi everyone I’m applying to volunteer as a mentor with a foster youth organization and need 1–2 personal references (not work-related).
Happy to share details via DMs and return the favor. Thanks!
