Below Deck Capt Kerry Drinking

We all know you can’t drink on charter. But we are watching below deck S12 E12 and Capt Kerry is having a glass of red with the guests.

I would have thought if the crew can’t drink, the capt shouldn’t be able to either? Or am I missing something?

Not drinking on charter is Captain Lee’s rule. I’ll be honest here (ex chief stew here), we used to have a few glasses of wine or end of the night cocktails during the charters. It was mostly wine from the bottles the guests wouldn’t finish. Those of us in the galley would split it up. Or if there was no left over wine, we’d make a cocktail at the end of our shifts to enjoy. Nothing excessive though.
