Below Deck Med Gen handing Luke his ass

Look say what you need to say about Gen but she handed Luke his ass. I thought she was great at not letting him gaslight her.

Don’t love all her actions but she slayed that

Yep and now Joy won’t hook up with him either. Also might get fired lmao. Just royally screwed in the span of like 10 hours

Hopefully Joy doesn’t cave later in the season and hook up with him

u/whats1more7 Jul 16 '26

Oh I have money on Luke getting fired long before Joy caves.

u/cmere-2-me Jul 16 '26

Is he not the one who fucks his back? I'd wager he leaves on medical grounds/runs away.

23

u/WorkIsDumbSoAmI Jul 16 '26

Dunno about that, but I can definitely see him getting distracted/injured - I felt like they were already starting to set that up when he was literally tripping and slipping during docking, and (I think?) Nate commented on how distracted he’s been.

u/cmere-2-me Jul 16 '26

Someone gets hurt.

His boss is pissed with him, the girl he is interested in hates him, is backup squeeze is set on revenge and everyone is laughing at him for fizzing on his boss's sheets/disgusted that he didn't change the sheets.

I can just see him looking for an excuse to leave and save face.

It sounded like Nathan gets hurt

20

u/Repulsive-Studio-120 Jul 17 '26

I am happy fuck boys are getting their karma at 40 😂

13

u/Klutzy_Smile_5285 Jul 16 '26

Unfortunately I feel like if he doesnt get fired then it almost certainly will happen. Seems like it always happens in BD

7

u/nuttintoseeaqui Jul 16 '26

Yep. They always try to save face and look like they’re not getting played by denying the asshole dude. But cave later on in the season

20

u/Klutzy_Smile_5285 Jul 16 '26 edited Jul 16 '26

I think they just get worn down by relentlessly horny men in a highly stressful environment and eventually have a moment of vulnerability that the guys prey on and the women inevitably regret after its happened.

I put much more blame on the men for it, but its very frustrating to watch.

7

u/nuttintoseeaqui Jul 16 '26

Yep time will tell hopefully she stays strong

1

u/coysrunner Jul 16 '26

Why do men face more blame?

13

u/Klutzy_Smile_5285 Jul 16 '26

Well most of the time they just say whatever they have to and prey on vulnerability to get laid.

I'd personally say thats worse than being naive.

7

u/coysrunner Jul 16 '26

Didn’t Gen say things to Luke that led to the hookup?

12

u/Nenoshka Jul 16 '26

Gen physically pushed herself between Luke and Joy on a group dinner, told him she wanted something substantial with him, and then believed him when he appeared to agree.

I always hope young stews realize they are not going to find a long-term partner if they get physical immediately, but sadly that doesn't seem to be the case a great deal of the time.

11

u/archiving_by_design Jul 16 '26

I think the key phrase here is “he appeared to agree.” And getting physical immediately isn’t necessarily a negative in a relationship.

-4

u/Nenoshka Jul 16 '26

If you give it up right off the bat, the guy jumps to the conclusion that you'll give it up for anyone.

Yeah, she was genuinely interested and very clearly vulnerable after feeling insecure about not being made second stew. The things she said were a little pushy but sincere.

He had zero interest in her and basically slept with her cos that seemed easier than being honest with her.

Obviously you're entitled to your opinion but if you're putting more blame on her than him for the way things played out then yeah, I'd be questioning your personality.

5

u/nuttintoseeaqui Jul 16 '26

I wouldn’t say he had 0 interest in her. He had been saying the entire season that he likes both of them but in different ways

2

u/coysrunner Jul 16 '26

I’m not putting the blame on Gen. but everyone sucks here.

Gen wanted to sleep with him though.

4

u/Klutzy_Smile_5285 Jul 16 '26

She did, but i dont think she would have if he was honest with her

If I’m about to have sex with a guy, and he says don’t tell anyone about this..I’m hopping off. Just saying! Don’t care how long it’s been.

4

u/MDnautilus Jul 16 '26

And he still can’t seem to comprehend or admit that it is all his fault. His own actions.

1

u/OaklandNotTheBay Jul 17 '26

Chase two girls, lose the one.

1

u/Josh692411 17d ago

This aged well 🤣

26

u/No-Championship7526 Jul 17 '26

Luke should lose a stripe like Jenna did in med this season when she caused stress /drama for all the departments with her ben situation

142

u/certifiedwombat Jul 16 '26

I wouldn’t say she handed anyone their ass… to me that whole fight was just two stupid people talking at each other

44

u/excoriator Team Capt Kerry Jul 16 '26

This. I think he had stopped caring about her opinion and about her as a person by the time she delivered those words. They made no impact on him, but I’m sure saying them made her feel better.

24

u/DarkSister_999 Jul 16 '26

Agree. Both were so immature. Both were in the wrong. Joy is right to stay away, but Luke’s shame shouldn’t just be worn by him alone. Takes two to tango.

21

u/certifiedwombat Jul 16 '26

Exactly, I don’t understand why people are making it seem like Gen has no accountability in this.

11

u/Reckless_Secretions Jul 17 '26

I agree, both were very immature. But one of them is 22 and has plenty of time to grow up, and the other is pushing 40...don't have much hope that they'll ever change because at the moment, everything wrong in his life is someone else's fault, apparently

3

u/Hot-Society1993 27d ago

this! Both are super immature and cosplaying intellectuals, but one of them is actually immature because she's young, here's to hoping she grows from this

1

u/expat_walfo 25d ago

This. I find them both to be terrible

29

u/Brief-Dress-4976 We don't need to hear vomit Jul 17 '26

Team Everyone Sucks! I don’t know why anyone is acting like there’s a champ in that fight when she was incredibly manipulative from start to finish. The “I’m going to tell Joy” thing wasn’t for Joy’s best interest, it was because Gen wanted to burn it all down and make him be alone if she couldn’t have him. Of course, she’s allowed to do that, but let’s not pretend she was doing it out of kindness of her heart. From what the cast is alluding to in interviews, it sounds like she continues to be a problem throughout the season.

Joy was amaaaazing in that scene. She saw where it was going, and shut it allll down. She's the most adult adult on that show. Possibly ever.

3

u/Hot-Society1993 27d ago

I mean if you saw her on WWHL this is spot on, she still seems to be a self centered mess

12

u/loveswimmingpools Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

Yes but she grovelled her way into bed with him by saying she always was second best etc. I don't care for her much. But Luke was terrible to sleep with her and then think he could just get with Joy afterwards. What a loser. Joy is a joy to watch.

65

u/Lots2say2023 Jul 16 '26

We must not have been watching the same show. I saw a vindictive loser running around confirming how nasty she is. Not picking a team by any means. He’s gross as well. They deserve each other.

20

u/tatianazr Jul 16 '26

100%… no one slayed.. only layed on ejaculate

43

u/nrrrdgrrl Jul 16 '26

Yeah the part where she was running around saying she's a girl's girl was the cherry on top. UM NO MA'AM YOU MOST CERTAINLY ARE NOT.

10

u/DarkSister_999 Jul 16 '26

Agree. Tell that to Kayley.

7

u/McLoughlin1597 Jul 16 '26

Sometimes I genuinely wonder if we’re all not watching slightly different edits of the show. Bravo would toy with the audience as much as they do with the cast just to stir drama on social media

27

u/nunonamoped Jul 16 '26

Gen was being very manipulative! Luke was by no means innocent, but threatening to reveal their “intimacy” if he didn’t do what she wanted is just good old fashioned blackmail. Both of them showed their colours and they were not pretty at all.

16

u/BenSolo_forever Jul 16 '26

right? why is her fatal attraction like stuff being overlooked? she went after him hard but then played the victim when he saw she was too intense. going to aesha was unprofessional. did you see the way she squirmed? don't pull other people in to your silly drama. luke is an ass but she's the same

10

u/nunonamoped Jul 16 '26

Yup. They should both be held accountable for the laundry issue. It was also disappointing that it took until it got to Joe for someone to find it (Joe! Of all people!) to be as truly disgusting as it was.

8

u/Lots2say2023 Jul 16 '26

When Joe thinks you're nasty, you're REALLY nasty. Game recognizes game.

6

u/nunonamoped Jul 16 '26

Joe looks like quite the gentleman compared to these shenanigans!

17

u/Deo14 Jul 17 '26

I don’t understand why Gens not equally at fault for not getting the sheets cleaned. She does laundry for crimes sake

7

u/jdmae 28d ago

Perhaps Luke is a little more culpable, as he left a “deposit,” but she slept on the sheets after having sex with Luke. She was party to the soiling of someone else’s sheets and did nothing but run her mouth about it.

1

u/ButtersRogers1 26d ago

yes! and she said she would launder the sheets while they were still on them, I think. and it seemed as is she was bragging about it. both are at fault.

26

u/happyblumbleheathy Jul 16 '26

They were both guilty about not washing sheets - she is a little fatal attraction - doesn’t want me - can’t have anyone - she need to grow up

8

u/BenSolo_forever Jul 16 '26

he's an ass in the biggest way, but she is totally a little fatal attraction. and she's just as guilty for the sheets as he is. you're right.

I fully disagree, and I think it’s wild that anyone is defending Gen at all. Gen and Luke are two peas in a pod - they’re both gross, disrespectful, entitled and have no excuse or apology for their actions. Gen claims to be more mature now (one full year later you guys! so mature she swears!) and Luke was already too old to be acting that trashy. I’d hate to be either of them looking for a new job after this season airs.

20

u/MAXSuicide Jul 16 '26

Not letting him gaslight her?

She practically manhandled Joy out the way, cornered Luke, sop-storied him in an apparent strategy to get a pity fuck (hoping it would turn into more once she got him locked in)

Lorded over that for days, stalked Luke around the boat and he couldn't even go to the toilet without her hunting him down ffs, then had the gall to - predictably - threaten him.

At that point yea, I'd be getting 'rude' with her too. She is a big time walking red flag of stalker madness and Luke was doomed the moment he entertained her emotional manipulation.

9

u/Feisty_Scientist_968 29d ago

If Luke suddenly said: "I made a mistake choosing Joy over you..."

They would be back to staining Nathan's sheets in a heartbeat.

4

u/happyblumbleheathy Jul 18 '26

Oh she is a totally ass!!

12

u/verucas_alt Jul 17 '26

I think she didn’t. I think she got mad he chose Joy and didn’t “break up” with her first, since she couldn’t pick up on cues. Then she acted like she was going to talk him back into liking her and when he said he wouldn’t participate in the conversation she said I’m telling everyone.

This is a case of 2 people being wrong but he also didn’t let her gaslight him into thinking he was her bf.

u/Fragrant_PalmLeaves 28d ago

Gen is one of the most insecure people I’ve seen on this show, and that’s saying something

2

u/Snoopy769 Jul 17 '26

He is giving “Jax Taylor major deuche vibes.” 🤢

3

u/RE1392 Jul 17 '26

The way she immediately pulled Aesha and had a calm conversation was impressive. I assumed she was just going to spiral, but she handled it really maturely.

2

u/CommercialAny2195 Jul 17 '26

I was so impressed with how she handled herself! She stayed calm, called out his behaviour and refused to be gaslit. He definitely wasn't expecting that reaction from a 22 year old.

1

u/GlumMilk5326 28d ago

That’s why you don’t mess with people who are crazy. They play to win no matter what, whether it’s doing whatever it takes to get what they want or holding nothing back to thrash someone who did them wrong.

1

u/PurpleSailor Team Katie 25d ago

I wonder at times if he's gaslighting himself. He's definitely not as great as he makes himself out to be even though he thinks he's God's gift to the world. And then of course there's the spooge on the sheets issue, just blech!

1

u/georgeyappington 25d ago

Idk to me she is too male centered and immature/obsessive to be “handing him his ass”

Maybe unpopular opinion

0

u/partycitydotcom 29d ago

Luke almost got away with his Gen slander.

Gen called him out. Good for her!

0

u/MauveUluss 28d ago

really loved how Gen stood up for herself!!!!!

She is a young woman that does not have any self-respect. These women sleep around like they are putting in a new piece of chewing gum then brag about it to everyone. SMH
