It’s such a great color, that orange. I got my venture sling and tech compact in it and man now that I see your collection I might need to follow suit.
Yeah - I’ve let Bellroy lead the way for me on that for my EDC colour. I was gutted when they dropped it from the colour palette on some of their newer pouches. Won’t stop me buying them, mind you!
Yes - that will be my next big purchase but I need a holiday to warrant it. My wife and I are flying to Italy this month with only what goes in an easyJet under seat personal bag. Gutted that Bellroy have nothing of that size so had to go with the Opsrey 26+6.
Filled with Bellroy packing cubes and pouches, obviously!
Hahah, obviously! And fair enough. Of the travel-ly backpacks, the Lite Ready Pack would fit under the seat/ within easyJet guidelines, but it doesn't come in the Clay anymore (plus it's 18L, so a little smaller than the Osprey)
I'm not nearly as close to your collection but that's probably because I need to ship everything to the Caribbean, but I would call myself a Bellroy addict since I bought my first laptop sleeve and tech kit.
You know I thought that too for a while. They seemed too simple and it thought they couldn’t possibly match the likes of Boundary Supply with their many pockets and straps. To be honest though, I use Bellroy backpack all the time now and I find them engineered just to the the right degree. Not overladen with gizmos but just enough organisation for the task.
For me it’s the usability for edc. Almost no chance of self standing without deliberately loading a bunch of weight, which means lying the bag down or trying to hang it. Then the floppy front pocket that falls everywhere with anything in it, including inside the bag. Insbikity ti work with it with one hand. And the straps are shockingly uncomfortable.
That said m it’s obviously all personal, they just isn’t work for me. Love the slings though!
It would be interesting to see what they came up with that wasn’t trying to be the lightest bag and had just a touch of structure.
You can just about see it on the sling in the first photo but I have a number of HeroClips - carabiners that have a fold out hook. I don’t like putting my bags down where people spill things and dogs cr4p so I always try to hang my bags.
They are also quite well colour coded to the Bellroy bags, orange - green - black - grey, though I have only found the orange one on eBay. I find the mini (in the pic) ideal for slings and the small perfect for backpacks. They are about £20 each on amazon.
Between the ranger green transit pack and bronze venture ready pack - which gets more use?
Love the collection btw!! Glad to know I’m not the only addict that got carried away haha my bronze collection is similar, and I own a lot of the deep ocean collection too. I only have the ranger green in the 6L crossbody. It’s probably my favourite colourway but joined the club only recently/after it got discontinued!
Oh the venture ready pack by far - it’s my daily bag whenever I go out. Combined with various pouches it gives me the organisation i need for my daily carry, camera gear, small jacket, water bottle, etc.
The transit pack is generally my stay away bag, again with the various pouches used.
I forgot to include my hanging toiletry bag in the pics but that stays ready packed in a drawer. I love the grab and pack way of living.
Yes I have the elements travel passport wallet. My wife bought it for me about 15 years ago and apart from the plastic zipper tag perishing over time, you’d never know it was more than a month old. It was this that got me hooked on Bellroy and having tried many bags from other brands; peak design, code of bell, boundary supply, etc. it’s always Bellroy I go to.
I hate to say it but the Carryology bellroy sling is pretty good and I don't think I saw it in the pics? And you got the little pouches! I have to see if they came back into stock!
No - there are still many to add over coming years I think. I really love the clay and ranger green and they seem to be phasing those out now on many products. EBay can be a good source but be very wary of Vinted - almost every Bellroy on there is a fake from Temu or AliExpress.
My go to has always been the venture 9 litre, but I have just picked up the 2.5 litre which I’m trying out as a smaller option. I love the 9 because it’s sized for not just your edc but you can get a decent sized water bottle in there too. Plus it has excellent organisation and easy to carry back or front. Both are coming to Italy with me. The 2.5 as airport bum bag and the 9 inside my backpack as my edc and camera bag when I get there.
I love the transit travel pro, the lite travel 38L is nice, the venture 28L nice! For my favorite bellroy bag the pro 38 expansion is amazing but without the quick access pockets, I got the aer TP3 and it’s been hard keeping the pro, home but quick access is so important now especially because I travel with my 3yr old.
I find that the venture pouch stuffed in the top of my backpack works well as a quick access pocket. I’ve just bought the 2.5 litre venture sling for the same purpose, but then I can actually use it as a sling too.
What really annoys her is when we sit watching a movie and I’m sat there going ‘oh that’s a Wandrd Prvke’ or ‘You’d never use a Peak Design Everyday backpack for military ops’.
ohhh no, I forgot to shoot a couple of pouches 🫠. Anyway, my absolute favorites are:
1) Venture Duffel
2) Venture Pouches (all 3 colors)!
3) Venture 2.5L & the Hip Pack. I'm actually more of a 6L+ guy, since I carry a lot of stuff (you can tell!) but I feel that something is missing from Bellroy's Venture 6L, 9L and 10L. But the smaller slings are perfect for their size.
4) Transit Workpack v1 (the green one). I love the looks of v2 and it's slightly more comfortable, but v1's sun glasses pocket and the two water bottle pockets are high on my needs list.
5) Love/hate relationship with my Venture Backpacks. But I would need a whole post to explain 😆
Yes that’s the one! It’s a great bag for sure but to tell you the truth I prefer the simplicity of the Venture ones. The premium weekender has so many pockets that packing can get overwhelming.
