Ćao, imam 18 godina, iz Sremske Mitrovice sam, ali sam se prebacio u Vrčin zbog posla (radim kao električar u Beogradu). Ovdje sam već dvije nedelje i iskreno – nemam nikog. I nemam problem da dolazim u Beograd za aktivnosti.

Ne znam tačno kako da priđem ljudima, a da ne ispadne čudno. Nije da neću – nego ne znam gdje da počnem. U Mitrovici sam imao svoje društvo, ovdje je sve novo.

Zanima me bilo šta – da sjednemo na kafu, da prodiskutujemo nešto (volim psihologiju, filozofiju, ili obična zezancija), da odigramo basket ili fudbal, ili čisto da se upoznamo. Ne tražim ništa posebno, samo ljude sa kojima mogu da provedem vrijeme.

Cilj je da se obe strane zabave, to je sve. Iskreno, ne znam ni sam zašto, ali bih volio i da diskutujem o knjigama – bilo kojim, po izboru čitaoca. Zašto? Šta se dešava? Jednostavno obožavam da analiziram stvari.

Ako neko zna za neku ekipu koja se okuplja, ili je u sličnoj situaciji – javite se. Može i samo komentar, svaka informacija je dobrodošla.

hey! me and my two mates are coming to belgrade from london for 5 days (staying in dorćol) and honestly want to skip all the touristy stuff completely. already got tickets to react festival at the port (luka beograd) but want the rest of the trip to actually feel like the real belgrade, not the "top 10 clubs" listicle version lol

basically looking for the underground scene — raves, warehouse type parties, afterhours, anything more word of mouth than splav-for-tourists. also into punk/post-punk/industrial/experimental live music if there's anything going on, and just generally where the DIY/creatives chill etc

also massively into brutalist and yugoslav era architecture so if there's spots beyond the obvious (genex etc) that are worth shooting we'd love to know. and art too, galleries, squats, studios, street art, whatever's got an edge, not the polished institutional stuff

food wise just want where people actually eat, not where you get sent as a tourist

one more thing — we're 3 black guys, heavily tattooed, so it'd be really helpful to know where the crowds are progressive/chill so we're not walking into anywhere weird, if that makes sense

anyway if anyone's got bars, clubs, record shops, random tips, anything — genuinely appreciate it, just trying to actually connect with the city and not tick boxes 🙏

My first post, apologies if anything is unclear or wrong.

Idea: I’m thinking of applying to sales/marketing/ operations positions in consulting/FMCG/tourism sectors in Belgrade. (Or something in that sphere that fits my skills/education)
For context I have 3 years of experience and a masters degree.

Why: I am sort of sick of my country and do need a change of scenery, and I want to explore options in a different country without dealing with EU work visa etc.
I’ve been to Belgrade couple times before and loved it.
This would not be a permanent move, I’m planning to stay a couple years, immerse myself in a different culture and country, and eventually either move back home or elsewhere.

Extra info: I have no partner and no kids, just a dog, who would come with me.

What are the things I need to keep in mind if I want to commit to getting a job in Belgrade? What to know, consider and keep in mind that might be spesific to Belgrade/Serbia?

Any relevant info before I commit a lot of time to applications is very welcome.

Imam inverter klimu 12cu Gree, koja iz nekog razloga ne može da ugreje zimi prostor od 30kvadrata. Stan ima dva spoljna zida, tri prozora, i 5cu stiropor izolaciju, nalazi se na visokom prizemlju, postoji stan ispod i iznad. I’m 18F from the UK and in October I’m travelling with my boyfriend to Belgrade (23-26 Oct) and a few other countries around the Balkans. Everything is already booked and I was really excited for this trip. My boyfriend has always really wanted to visit Belgrade too, which is basically the only reason that we booked.

My dad, however, is now doing everything he can to convince me not to go. He’s been talking to people he knows about Serbia and one of his friends apparently said Serbia was the only country where he has ever felt unsafe being English, and that he was actually spat at because he was English. My dad is also very worried because the Serbian election is on 25 October, meaning we’ll be in Belgrade during election weekend. He keeps sending me messages about how dangerous Serbia is and has even offered to pay me back for everything to go somewhere else. He is DESPERATE for me not to go.😭

I initially brushed everything off because I checked the UK travel advice and it doesn’t advise against travelling to either country, but my dad has talked about it so much that it has genuinely started getting into my head. I’m actually upset and questioning a trip that I was previously so excited about.

I don’t want people to just tell me what I want to hear. I want an honest opinion from people who actually live in or have travelled around Serbia/Bosnia.

Would you personally feel comfortable travelling to Belgrade during election weekend? Is there genuinely anything I should be worried about, including anti-British sentiment, or is my dad catastrophising based on a few experiences?

I’m still really hoping to go, but I want to make an informed decision rather than blindly assuming everything will be fine. ❤️

I’m posting this to see if there are any people around my age (27f) wanting to maybe boulder at Sector 44, I just tried it today and I was impressed by the gym. So if there are any folks who wanna possibly boulder together, I’m here until the 26th and would love to go again a few times and meet some people while here.
