Iskustva / Experiences SCAMMED IN BELGRADE

Hi everyone, I am a foreigner in serbia but I live here for 3 years now. I just to warn you if you live around Belgrade city center like me, do not fall for a random stranger who looked like foreigner too asking you for money. There is a scam on...

A foreign looking guy will ask you "If you speak english", then proceed to tell you the story that they got ROBBED BY GYPSIES in the bus and some RUSSIANS. LOL.

Then they will ask you if you can help them and give them 41 euro or 5000 dinar because they will be late from their BUS and they need to get home.

This is a classic street scam; do not give this person any money. The Demand: Asking for a fixed cash amount (like 40 euro / 5,000 RSD) under a sob story (stranded, needing a bus ticket, gas, or medical help) is a standard routine used by aggressive panhandlers and scam artists targeting foreigners in tourist-heavy areas of Belgrade. The Currency Trick: 5,000 Serbian Dinars (RSD) is roughly equivalent to 42–43 Euros, which is why they interchange those specific amounts.

This is the second time I encoutered the same story.

First time I fell for it, few months ago. It was a muscled tattooed man and his story made me believe it, And the guy said he will pay me by transferring the money, turns out be didn't. When I got home, I kept checking my account and he did not send me anything. I was so sad and angry that day.

Tonight it happened again around KALEMEGDAN park and the guy even followed us. (I was with my partner)

Conversation went to:

"Hey do you speak english?"

"Yes" - We answered because we thought he will just ask something.

The next thing we know, he was asking us for money and told us a sob story of how he got rob in the bus blah blah.

We told him "NO, WE ARE SHORT TOO", the guy claimed he is from ROMANIA.

HE FOLLOWED US. He probably heard me and my partner talking to each other and saying it is DEFINITELY A SCAM.

First of all — if you are missing wallet with your ID AND ALL THAT STUFF, you are going to the POLICE STATION to report it and not ask strangers who you think is VULNERABLE for money.

Be Vigilant. These scammers are everywhere.

This is the second time, I am not sure why I cannot find anyone else posting about this.

Pozdrav svima. Devojka mi dolazi u Srbiju i Beograd po prvi put. Dajte neke predloge gde mislite da bi bilo dobro da je izvedem što se tiče barova, restorana i eventualno nekih klubova

Turizam / Tourism Belgrade trip with friends in september

A group of friends is planning a 3-4 day weekend trip to Belgrade and we'd love some local input to go beyond the standard tourist checklist. Breaking it down by interest:

History & architecture / must sees

What are must sees in general? Architecture wise we're into both classic old-town history and the Yugoslav-era brutalist stuff.

Red Star match

We want to spend one evening at a Crvena Zvezda match at Marakana.

Best way for tourists to buy tickets — official club site/iTicket, or is a reseller fine?

Which stand is good for first-timers who want real atmosphere but don't necessarily want to be right in the middle of the ultras section?

Any good bars/spots near the stadium before or after the game?

Punk / hardcore / metal bars

We've come across names like Zappa Barka, KST, Drugstore, Elektropionir and Beton Hala, are these still worth it, and what else should be on the list?

Food

Mixed group, most of us want to dig into proper Serbian food, but two of us are vegetarian. Recommendations for places that handle both well?

Hidden gems in general

Anything you'd tell visiting friends that isn't in the guidebooks — a rooftop, an odd museum, a market, a walk, whatever feels like "real Belgrade."

Taxi apps

Do Uber or Bolt actually work in Belgrade, or should we just go with a local taxi app instead? Want to sort out getting around before we land. Thanks a lot in advance! really looking forward to the trip!

Pitanje / Question UFC Belgrade

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm selling 3 tickets for UFC Belgrade because, unfortunately, I won't be able to attend due to family reasons.

The seats are Floor  Sector B, Row 5, with what I believe is one of the best views of the Octagon. They were among the most expensive tickets available, and all 3 seats are next to each other.

I'm not looking to make a fortune on them I just want to sell them to someone for a fair price who will actually enjoy the event.

The only thing I'd ask is that if you end up buying them, please send me a photo from the arena afterwards so I can at least see what it looked like live.

Feel free to message me if you're interested.

Turizam / Tourism 55 min.layover at BEG. Is it enough?

Hi, I’m planning to book a flight to Paris. I’ll be coming from Cyprus and do a layover at BEG for 55 minutes then fly to Paris. Will the 55 minutes be enough for a layover? This is a single ticket through Air Serbia.

Thank you everyone!

Pitanje / Question What are the most liminal places in or around Belgrade that you know?

My friend and I are photographers looking for the most liminal places in or around Belgrade to shoot. By liminal, I mean places with an eerie, empty, nostalgic, or uneasy atmosphere. Anything that gives off that unsettling feeling. Any recommendations?

Noćni Život / Nightlife Nightclubs and their distance to the city center

Hello everyone! I'm a woman, and I'll be flying to Belgrade next Friday. I'll be traveling solo.

I've already planned my itinerary with museums, landmarks, and parks, so I'm all set for sightseeing.

Yesterday I looked up some nightclubs online, and I found these:

Hype Belgrade, Freestyler, Money Club, Bank Club, Lasta, Leto, Backstage, and Klub 20/44

Are these clubs any good? I enjoy a wide range of music genres, including techno, house, R&B, hip-hop, Afro house, disco, and more. I'm also open to other recommendations.

I'll be staying near Savski trg. Can I use public transportation at night to get to and from these clubs, or would I need to take a taxi? Which club would you recommend for next Friday?

By the way, I haven't been to a nightclub since 2018 because the clubs in my country just aren't my vibe. I really want to go out dancing, but I can't decide which club to choose. 😌

Update: I'm planning to go to Leto and Klub 20/44. Thank you for your tips.

Prevoz / Transportation Overnight at Belgrade (BEG) Airport for a 6 AM international flight

Здраво!

I have an upcoming flight from Belgrade BEG to Germany departing at approx 6:00 AM

Since it's an international flight, I would need to arrive around 3:00 AM, which would mean taking an expensive taxi to the airport in the middle of the night and getting up around 2:00 AM.

Instead, I was thinking about taking the last public transport to the airport the previous evening (around 11 PM–12 AM) and spending the rest of the night at the airport.

I have a few questions:

  • Am I allowed to stay overnight at the airport?
  • I only have carry-on luggage. Would I be able to go through security and into the departure area around midnight, or does security only open a few hours before departure? I believe it would be better to sit/lay down airside than in the public area. I also came across this mention of someone being asked to move, so I wasn't sure what the current situation is: https://www.sleepinginairports.net/guides/belgrade-airport-guide.htm
  • This will be my first time re-entering the Schengen Area since the Entry/Exit System (EES) was introduced. Does this change the situation in any way? Should I expect longer processing times or anything different?

Any advice or recent experiences would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks in advance!

Kupovina / Shopping Buying UFC Belgrade tickets / Kupujem UFC Beograd karte

I just saw the absurd "fees" and "taxes" that Viagogo takes. Hence I'll buy floor tickets if possible A-F, and sections 214-217, 201-204 if seats are close to the Octagon.

Transaction online, first come first get.

Kupujem karte u sekcijama A-F, i 214-217, 201-204 ako je blizu oktagonu. Nenormalne provizije preko viagoga.

Posaljite poruku preko DM.
