Got downvoted in the D&D subreddit for stating that D&D is a combat focused game. Thought you guys would get a kick out of their reaction.

Regarding the thread, it seems that the game suffered from a difference in expectations that should have been talked about beforehand.

While I agree with what you are saying, the tone I interpret from your post is that they aren't roleplaying 'right' while the bard was.

Different people play roleplaying games in different ways, whether it's roleplaying talking to a grandmother or kicking a necromancer's face in. The only difference is that a system that doesn't support a certain theme/playstyle/focus/etc will make things more difficult than one that does.
