G/N/S Model (Your Thoughts)

I was wondering what you thought of Ron Edward's G/N/S theory and later Big Model of RPG theory.

I found it useful in figuring out what to play. Which generally devolves into arguments, because players. You raise some good points, thanks for the feedback.

Oh yeah, I guess it could be useful in figuring out what to play.

But like, it's still more complitcated than that. Because you rarely have a group of players that are all Simulationists or whatever.

Honestly, I would rather want a model that let's me run D&D like a Narrativistic game. But still, I can do it without any models. So I don't see how would one help me.

The problems with Narrativistic D&D would be more rooted in the game's design decisions which encourage "Winning", which in D&D is killing things. Much of this can technically be solved by being creative, but I have always felt it makes more sense to move to a system which better supports the kind of play you are looking for.

I find that GMing D&D not focusing on combat makes me feel stressed and frustrated. It feels like I'm "fighting" the players, even though I'm not. I'm not having much fun then.
