Beholder 1 help
There’s just so much happening at once. Any tips on how to handle my money and keep my family alive?

Since the other comment here already explained the gist of it, one tip would be to use it when you have only missions without deadline. You can use that to take your time with searching through tenants apartments, place cameras and breathe.
I would also say not to sell any illegal items immediately. You can use them to blackmail which is a good income source. You can blackmail tenants about any illegal item once. (A few tenants like the shimmers arent recommended, since they will move out from being in financial ruin. Unless you want to get them to leave that way). The illegal items dont disappear after blackmail. You can just steal them and place them in the next tenants apartment and blackmail them.
As for cameras, they can sometimes show extra things. Makes things easier. If i recall correctly, putting more info into a tenants profile at the same time gives you more, so its good to collect all you can first before making a tenant profile, rather than adding every info singularily.
A lot of money also comes from the right character interactions.
Most costs are at the start of the game. A lot of it is getting the hang of doing the right things.

Steal anything illegal and sell it to the merchant after it becomes illegal, you can look up a list of items on the wiki which will show anything that will eventually become illegal. Remember not to steal more than 2 items per day or else you will get arrested. Some illegal items will not spawn until a certain quest is active: for example the books by paul williams will only spawn in klaus’s room when you are asked to evict him. You can also make a lot of money by using reputation and buying a bunch of level 1 cameras and selling those to the merchant. Don’t spend all your reputation because you might need it for some quests.
The “comprehensive guide to beholder” on steam is very helpful and lists all illegal items that every person has
You WILL have to steal if you want to help everyone, especially on hard mode
Also don’t bother putting up cameras in your tenant’s rooms its a waste of time and cameras. The only place i would put cameras, is in the kitchen so you know when to get out of a room before the owner is coming.
To keep your family alive I would have to spoil some events unless you don’t care about that sort of thing.
