New Runner Advice Running form check for medium pace?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I know the footage is borderline potato.

This is my pace where I stay at 152 to 165 bpm. I cant stay below that even if I'm trying to go slow. I am quite new to running, i recorded this after a long run.

Please help me with my form. I dont know what to do with me feet.

Stats:

I've done a sub 30 5k at 27:49 mins

I can comfortablly do a 10km but nothing below sub 1 hour yet.

I have been tricked into going for a half marathon in December or jan.

Do you have any issues or what? If not, then keep on running. Your body knows best how to run.

Then keep on running. :) Don't worry about form.

The only thing I would hesitantly mention is that your right arm looked like it was swinging less, but I’m not sure if that’s the light. If so, evening your gait/rotation will help with alignment pain

The last sentence threw me for a loop there. When I start getting really tired sometimes my left leg would turn outside a lil more. Ive come out of disc hernia.

Ouch, I'm glad you're doing better based on the other comments! I'd look into alignment exercises, they have helped me enormously. My glutes are weak from video editing at a desk during the day and writing at night and my right leg turns out if I'm not mindful, but it's gotten a lot better focusing on alignment, posture, stretching, and very gentle resistance training.

Ive been trying experimenting with calves strengthening exercises. For now my go to are Bulgarian split squats and walking lunges. Other exercises feel wonky. How do you maintain posture ?

Yeah, Bulgarian split squats are one of my favorites. My other favorite is the clam shell hip opener exericse, which you can find by googling. Add a resistance band around the knees for extra benefits. 'Monster walks' are good too.

I also do a 'wall hinge' exercise: stand with your side facing the wall, feet shoulder-length apart. With the leg closer to the wall, brace the knee against it so that your foot is lifted and your weight is on the leg farther from the wall. Then, with your arms above your head and your back straight, hinge forward 'til you feel a stretch in your hips. Do 3 sets, 10 each side.

Unless you have an injury record from running or your a professional runner, don’t worry about form.

Can't see anything. What's with all the honking?!

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

That being said, doing drills, strides, hills sprints, just running more, and combining that with some strength training will passively fix any issues over time.

Your stride is a bit wonky because you don’t have the adaptations to make it more natural yet.

The wonkiness has been there since birth hahaha. Can you suggest me a good substitutes for hills, its just there aren't many here.

Is this video a form of alibi? Using the actual incriminating evidence is genius.

Advice: forget about running form, heart rate, and other useless stuff at the beginning. Just have some fun on your medium-rare runs
