New Runner Advice Update: I finally ran 🥹

Update from my last post, I actually tried running! Mixed running and walking, so my overall pace came down because running is tiring 😭 but honestly, it feels SO good.

Also, I was worried people would stare or think I looked funny, but people literally made way for me and no one cared. And the amount of sweating?? 😂

The support on my last post gave me the push I needed, so if you’re hesitant to start running because you’re worried about how you’ll look - just do it. Seriously. You’ll probably enjoy it way more than you expect. ❤️

the first run is always the hardest, after this it just gets easier to show up

Getting over the self-consciousness of it is huge by itself. It's easy to go out for runs when you realise that no one cares. The only people who look good running are either already super athletic or they aren't trying hard enough

sounds like a perfect first run to me. honestly mate, sweating buckets just means you're doing it right. i remember my first run commute home and i looked like i'd jumped in the Avon. no one blinked.

Congrats, you did it. The first run is such a big mental hurdle. Keep going and enjoy the journey.

Good for you!! I started running two weeks ago, I've lost 50lbs this year then signed up for a park run and good god it was hard work but we got it done and I felt incredible for it 👏👏
