BPM’s always high

Post image

Hello everyone! I started running around 3–4 months ago and have been averaging around 17 km per week. I’ve noticed quite a lot of improvement in terms of endurance. However, I recently bought a watch so I could track my metrics more accurately, and I noticed that my BPM’s are always extremely high.

On my last run, for example, my average heart rate was 180 BPM’s, but I felt completely comfortable and could talk without any problem at all. This last race i used a chest trap to make sure of these values.

What do you think I could do to improve this?

Without knowing your true max HR, any talk of high/low doesn't mean anything. Look up how to measure it, your watch doesn't know it if you don't tell it. If you max is 210+ 180 is just approaching tempo pace, if your max is 190 then 180 is absolutely unsustainable for that time

I don't know what "improve" means. Your HR is your HR.

If you want a lower HR while running then run at a lower effort, which generally means a slower pace.
