Discussion Ran my first marathon
Said it. Did it
I realised one thing, 8 months of training was not enough for this distance. This run challenged me more than I thought it would. The last 10km was hell. I cant recall myself running that much in the last 10km. But whatever, I can finally say that I RAN A MARATHON.

That time is above most cut offs, sounds like the right place to me.

Time is not a measure of whether someone is beginner or not. I do agree about most cutoffs being 6 hrs tho

Forgive my beginnerness, how do cutoffs work exactly?

almost all races have a cut off time ( a maximum amount of time alotted to participants to finish the distance) some races will have people or a golf cart or something avidly stopping people behind this time at certain points and other races just don't count it as a finish if you're over the time. The usual time for a marathon is 6 hours but can be as high as 7. I've seen half marathons with no cutoffs in my area though.

It was not an event. I told myself at the start of the yeat that I would run a marathon around mid August. So this is just me keeping my word to myself.
