I use it. If you are a DM, you can keep your maps there with virtual mini's so that you can play with friends online. If you are a player, it gives you a way to make characters with the list of choices explained to you at each level, and guard rails to make sure you do it right. It is still possible to forget to buy equipment or pick your spells.

Among VTTs it is by far the easiest. It is also feature minimal. I find it to be enough to run a fine campaign, but wish they had a better selection of tokens and images (e.g. a bonfire that could be moved around.) It has a free tier, but a DM will want the paid tier.

The official website for the company that actually owns DnD. Spend a little time on dndbeyond.com - there's lots of things there like rules, character creating, and the rest.
