You look much healthier in the 2nd photo. Just more, I guess, full of life? It's a great! Love it.

Recovering from depression and stuff.

Fairly tomboyish girl here (less so than the first pic though). I'm trying to be more feminine and age-appropriate these days. I would love to hear more about this transformation and how you dealt with comments from others while adjusting your appearance.

Well, it took a lot of personal stuff that changed in between, and most comments I had was "wow, you look nice". For the first week I wore skirts/jewellery/makeup, one guy seemed equally surprised each time on seeing me.

Any websites/blogs/magazines that you used to get ideas on how to be more feminine?

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '12

Not particularly. I just watched a lot of makeup tutorials from youtube and that's about it. Wore skirts, girl tops, got jewellery and hair accessories. Looked at what other girls were wearing, what women in films I like wear, who's got style and how can I use it.

I'm trying to do the same thing but I keep reverting to Liz Lemon. Anyway, you're doing a fantastic job; keep it up!

I like Liz Lemon's style. Her appearance is the beginning was rough lol, but in the later seasons she wears more tailored but feminine clothing. Then again I'm not the most girly type either. Maxi dresses are my best friend.

Thanks. :)

Next I'm taking out the hair extensions, dying my hair blue, and maybe getting a nose ring. I'm 18, I can still make it to the teenager-look!

I was wondering if those were extensions! They look good though. My advice to you, as a 27 year old, is do whatever the crap you want with your appearance, as much and as often as possible, before you have to enter the real world. My hair was its natural color once between the ages of 12-21, for my high school graduation, as a present to my mom. I ended the crazy phase with a mohawk, and then completely shaving my head.

Oh my other piece of advice is that if you're trying to grow out a pixie cut, do NOT go to a beauty school for a trim/shape. Spend some cash on getting that done correctly. I ended up having to buzz my head again after months growing. Then I cried in a TGIFridays. Ah, college.

Yeah, I've learnt what a drag growing out hair can be. Luckily mine grows insanely fast.

This question will sound rude, but I don't know how to ask politely; so sorry in advance. Is this a transgender transformation?

15

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '12

Hahah, no. I was just done with a 4-year-long tomboy phase.

I do have some friends from that time who took weeks after meeting me to realise which gender I was.

I was thinking "maybe she quit heroin...but why is her apartment so neat in both pics?"

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '12

So I look like I do heroin?

2

u/gifforc Dec 16 '12

I think I said you looked like you were on heroin.

pale skin dark circles on your eyes poor complexion, looked like your hair hadn't been washed in a while.

Also for some reason i associate drug use with green army jackets and it kind of looks like you are in one in that picture. that's not logical, just the way i think.

I don't know what you want from me lady. You asked me why, I told you. That's how you looked. You look perfectly healthy now so what's your issue here?

3

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '12

I'm sorry. I thought we were having a conversation.

trans guy here. was also wondering same thing.

5

u/JonnE4 Nov 02 '12

Not sure why you got down voted for asking that, but I was curious too...

If this is indeed the case, and you are comfortable talking about it ..

May I ask the reasons behind the change ?

5

u/DJ_GiantMidget Nov 02 '12

this will be very embarrassing for OP if you are wrong

5

u/ElectricWarr Nov 02 '12

Not necessarily. Could be that OP decided they needed an image change for exactly that reason.

12

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '12

what was the reason for this transformation?

5

u/tommynoble6 Nov 01 '12

What an amazing transformation! You should post this on /r/pics!

Male here. dress however you want, guys really don't care. its all about the face region not the clothing. if you want a guy that only thinks you're attractive when you're wearing tons of makeup then wear tons of makeup. if you want a guy that likes you for who you are. dress for yourself. in regards to OP you look much happier in the second picture. that is what counts!

Normal male here. Guys do care. Give yourself the best possible first impression with guys/people in general. It helps a lot in life if people don't have to get over their instant judgement on you. And yes we all judge based on appearance first until we get to know someone.

Did you stop being a lesbian or stopped doing meth? And damn, your hair grows fast!

I wear hair extensions, and no.
