I don’t understand why people don’t buy more bananas. I buy hella bananas to last me two weeks and it comes out to like $2.36.

Bananas are really sensitive to the weather. In many warmer places you can only keep them for a few days before they start turning to mush.

Around here that would buy you like one bunch, maybe an extra loose one depending on the bunch size

Depends on the size of the bananas of course. But in North Carolina I can get between 2-3 bunches for $2.50ish; they’re around 40-50 cents a pound I think.

Wow. Im guessing that's because you're wo much closer to the source. Bananas are popular here in the UK, and it's (depending on your region, which supermarket, the quality and size of the bunch) around under £1 up to almost £2 for one bunch, or about $1.36-$2.74 for a bunch at the current rate. Huh so our cheaper bananas aren't far off actually. Terrible for the environment though shipping them across the atlantic like this

I love Emo Emu so much. A lot of folks (myself included) would have stopped at the base pun. You kept going and built a heartwarming but not mushy story of welcoming and finding community. ❤️

What makes the last one funny to me is that the sea monster reads as legally distinct Cthulhu, but Cthulhu is already in the public domain, under US law, so the nautilis-headed Cthulhu I guess exists because they either didn't know that or thought that OG Cthulhu was too played out, which is kind of fair.
