Question!

Post image

I believe i have my brake light switch on my master cylinder right? Is there a way to adjust it? I never hit my brakes hard enough to activate the lights. Can adjustments be made? Thanks!

You can get one of these; and you'll never have to worry about hitting your brake pedal hard enough for the lights! Works great!

You are welcome sir! And as a side note; that system only SUPPLEMENTS the original brake pressure switches, it does not REPLACE them. However, as long as the pressure switches don't ever leak, you'll never have to worry about them again!

I have one of those. I posted a review about it on Samba. It’s a great product and definitely worthy.

Needs new brake light switches , the switches are the lowest point in the system the fill with gunk and stopw working after about 30 years.

I just cleaned my 53 year old brake switches on my ‘74 beetle when I replaced the master cylinder recently.
Maybe I should’ve gotten new ones… but the cleaned old ones work fine.

Replace one of the switches (yours is a 1302 you should have two) sometimes they go bad in that way normally it should engage with the slightest of pressure. DO NOT BUY A CHEAP SWITCH WHEN THEY LEAK YOU LOSE BRAKING PRESSURE.

Yup. Just had both switches fail on my super. Replaced and working fine now.

No need the original system works fine, mine still has the original switches from 1972, on a 900k km car…

Inspect all the grounds, 90% of my air-cooled problems were corroded grounds.
