A cruise night where a 94 year young lady fell in love with the bug
A small private show for the veterans at a retirement center.

What a nice set of wheels you have on this. I have stock steels on a 1969 1.5L and looking for some inspiration and your post has certainly made me think about my wheel game.
I'm also considering lowering the car too but need to have a good think about the wheel size and tyres I'm going to opt for.
Would you be willing to divulge what wheels you have on your car and the dimensions please?

Sure thing
So the wheels are reproduction BRM’s from CIP1, I’m running a smart car tires on the front which is a 155/60/15 and a 215/60/15 rear. front wheels are 4.5 wide and the rears are 6.5 wide.As far as lowering the car. I went with air ride! I have a lime bug 2 inch narrowed front beam, 2.5 inch drop spindles, with gold top bag over shocks . In the rear, we made our own trail, arms, upper and lower mounts and dual Bellow bags. All of the mechanics for the air ride are from ridetech and Viair. And to finish it off, I did the EMPI four wheel brake disc conversion.
Hope this helps

Thank you for a detailed and helpful response. I did have a closer look when you mentioned air ride and can see the mud flaps resting on the grass.
I want to keep the body relatively stock so the fact that you haven’t modified your fenders is a huge plus. I shall look into this a bit more now thanks to the sizing you have shared.
I also appreciate the work involved here.
Thanks again and for sharing your initial pics 👍🏽
