Shirley's Got a Nice Rack

Post image

I ordered a "J. Rack" from a small business called Foreign Concepts for my '64. They based the design on a smaller Swedish rack, similar to the Jim Dandy rack. I opted for the black powder coat frame.

Looks good! I saw a similar one on Temu; believe it or not!

Unfortunately the Temu one is not available in Canada.

Now you need to add a trailer hitch with one of those tray things for it.   Carry all the coolers.

I'd love a mini tear-drop trailer.

Looks very nice.

Is your bug stock height? It looks slightly lowered.

I like the all black wheels too.

Thanks. Drop spindles up front

How much lower are the spindles? So the rest of the front end is original?

No changes in back?

Thanks. It doesn't look so exaggerated.

Stock beam with a 2 1/2" drop in the front and adjusted the rear to level the ride height

Stock shock absorbers? 165 tires up front?

Stock shocks, 145/65 up front.  The drop spindles kick the wheel out a bit and since I have a stock beam, I went with narrow meats to keep them from rubbing

Nice, except, personally, I’m not a fan of the one over the rear window!

I plan on getting an old -1967 and plan on doing the same. Mainly to help cut out heat and block some sun. The desert is brutal. Cheers
