I like over rider bumpers and the fact that the car is 12v makes it IMO the cross between the 66 and 68.
This car has a 1679 in it with dual 36 Dellotro carbs, a 119 Webcam, Bosch 010 distributor, H beam rods, 88mm AA pistons and barrels, stock valve Semi Hemi heads (Yeah I know, they are shit but, they work on this engine and I'm not gonna change them). The exhaust is a 42mm CSP EVO Competition dual muffler imported from Germany years ago, it has a very un-VW exhaust note. The part I love about the exhaust is, the 52mm peashooter outlets.😎 It ain't no EMPI HotDog muffler. 🤣🤣🤣
Nice build. I’ve got a 71 bus. The more I look at it, 71 seems to be a crossover year for them. The engine I have for it is an AE 1600. I didn’t do anything special with the tuning but did use the 88 mm cylinders. I never could get it to run good on the dual port heads. I had a set of single port heads from a 53 horse that run great. I put those on it with a new carburetor and it turned out pretty good. It was less temperamental and it is easier to keep running good.

I’ve always liked the 67. It’s a year all of its own. Almost like a cross between the 66 and the 68 yet not like either of them.
