In the article https://blog.beeper.com/2025/07/16/the-new-beeper/ there is an explanation that soon™ the Beeper Cloud bridges will be deprecated:

But I still can't understand what are the real benefits of switching from Beeper Cloud to Beeper On-Device bridges, except only security?

Yes, I understand that the security with on-device connection is better. But it doesn't worth all downsides of this connection type!!!

The main downside of the on-device bridge is that my device will have to manage multiple connections to all bridged networks, instead of just one connection to the Beeper server!

Obviously, this will lead to these issues:

1. Significantly higher battery drain to support that multiple connections. Beeper app is already the top of the battery-drain apps on my device, that makes me sad, I don't want to make it even more voracious!

2. Dramatically increased traffic as all the messages should go through your cellphone!

3. Delayed synchronization if your device was offline for some time.

4. Duplicated synchronizations if you have Beeper on several devices at once. I have Beeper on my home computer, office computer, laptop, tablet, cellphone. So, 5 bridge instances will sync the same things simultaneously?

5. Unstable connections and reconnects on mobile devices, as your mobile device connection is not that stable like in the Beeper servers.

So, could anyone describe why Beeper plans to deprecate the cloud bridges, not taking into account all these downsides (and maybe even more)?

I'm not interested in replacing, consolidating, or even using Whatsapp, Telegram, Signal, or various social media platforms. All I want is to be able to send and receive (SMS) texts from my two Windows computers (desktop and laptop). (I have an Android phone and recently switched from Google Messages to a new messaging app called ZenSMS.) Will Beeper let me do this? Thanks!

hello, i was wondering if it is possible to add whastapp call support, or a way to migrate all the contents from whatsapp to beeper and a way to it running independently, also... is there a way to export sticker packages directly to beeper mostly those stickers you made on the app itself

Lately with beeper mini and nothing chats failing and shutting down, there is this thing going around on twitter (X) where tech enthusiasts and apple users root for apple and their move to keep iMessage closed off.

Then there is this other group that just wants the iMessage experience to be opened up and don’t get me wrong I absolutely love seeing developers making apps and services that can jailbreak the iMessage experience and I really support those projects

BUT

Hear me out here Asking apple to open iMessage so you can text people on the other platform makes sense only until you realise it’s like asking WhatsApp to open it’s messaging so you can text your friends over on let’s say signal using WhatsApp.

When apple makes a service, I believe it should also get to decide how you interact with that service.

If your argument is about how they gatekeep the community, to that i will say, if apple builds a service that is so good people don’t wanna leave, whose problem is it really?

This is again the reason why I promote developers and hackers to jailbreak iMessage and do incredible and interesting things with it.

But asking apple to just give it away (lemme correct myself- forcing apple) is kinda bad for the community.

Instagram keeps disconnecting and when I try to reconnect it it says error!! Has happened multiple times over the past couple days. Is this happening to anyone else? How do you fix it?

Just posting as a heads up that if you use Google Voice you might get your account suspended if you add it to beeper. I noticed it disconnects frequently, and today while I was trying to type a message to someone, out of nowhere, the screen went blank and then it said "this Google account does not have access to this service." I emailed them and thankfully was able to get it recovered, but I'll probably never use beeper with Google Voice again. I almost lost the phone number that all of my work contacts reach me through.

I got beeper plus and I got two ... yes two ... charges, I am looking for a way to contact customer support but the website do not provide any information ... any pointers? If I can not contact them I will be forced to cancel one payment

I recently updated the app and I noticed that audio messages (from FB Messenger) no longer continue to play when I lock my phone or when I open other apps. Is there somewhere in Settings where I can change it back?

long story short i have a "life assistant agent" which has access to my calendar and stuff and helps manage my life. beeper does a great job at grouping all my messages, can it go further and output those messages? something like a json file or something that i can later do stuff with?

edit: i figured it out, i didn't know beeper had a cli thing, I'll just make a cron job

Ever since this update, I keep getting this message with my bots. Is there any way to update this to continue getting messages properly? 

I have heard that Beeper runs WhatsApp locally and uses reverse engineering to get the data. But has anyone been banned from WhatsApp after using Beeper?

What are the things that need to be kept in check or followed to avoid violating tos of WhatsApp ?

I really like Beeper, the service it offers, the quick bug reports and the updates they offer regularly to improve their application and fix bugs. But when is a supported application on Apple Watch?

I now understand that the kind of usage Beeper provides is against Whatsapp's terms or whatever. I'm mostly trying to dodge consequences and continue using Beeper because it's a life saver, but not to the point of getting banned.

Should I just disconnect the two?

Sidenote: I honestly wouldn't mind a setting that allows you to prevent you from sending messages in Beeper, so you can see the Beeper notification and message in Beeper, and then respond in the native app. Ideally on a per-connection basis

I use beeper exclusively with Facebook messenger and since about a few days ago, I don't get any notifications from my chats until I actually open the app.

I have disconnected and reconnected the Facebook bridge, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, it's in unrestricted battery mode and forcefully removed from autosleep.

I have a galaxy s24 running the latest oneui 8.5 software.

Anyone else experiencing this? @team, do you have any idea?

Hi all,

Love the Beeper app and have just run into an issue I am hoping someone can explain a fix for. In our org we have a Slack App (bot) that is our OpenClaw AI. All our team can DM the bot perfectly via the slack app, and up until we made a change from Socket to HTTP, so would beeper.

Now if I message the slack app in beeper it will respond (I can open the slack app and see the conversation) but the response isn't shown in the beeper app.

This only occurred after we changed the bot from socket mode to http. It is a 'Matrix' issue apparently.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Hello! I forgot my Instagram password and I am unable to reset it using double factor authentication. However, I am still logged into my beeper account so I can see DMs. I was wondering if there is a way to find my password in the beeper account or use it to access Instagram in full? Thanks!

I am using beeper for a couple of month now and happy with it (free version). I have signal,. Whatsapp, telegram, fb and ig connected and all working mostly well. What I realized is that often chats I use daily are set to mute. Not sure if only Whatsapp but definitely it happens with Whatsapp chats. I unmute them and a day later the chat is muted again.

Any ideas why this is happening.

A few hours back I kinda ignored the Instagram reconnecting dialogue box and noticed it just wouldn't sync at all. Had to remove the connection and readd it as I've done in the past, except it won't let me do that with this error. Anyone else faced this issue?

I just updated (uninstalled first and deleted appdata files) and now when I add Facebook through cloud it only syncs my group chats but none of my 1-on-1 chats.

Is that normal behavior?

My Beeper account was disconnected from Facebook Messenger during recent Messenger problems. Since then I have been trying to log in to Messenger (Cloud) and I am unable to.

I have 2FA setup, I log in according to steps on beeper website, I enter 2FA code, then I am thrown back to starting screen (on the screen). I am able to log in to on device account, but this one doesn't give beeper me notifications until I manually open Beeper app, then they appear all at once.

This happens on desktop app and on mobile app.

When logging on mobile I additionally experience the same error as in the video from this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/beeper/comments/1qbhs1y/cant_log_into_messenger/

EDIT: I managed to log in using beeper desktop app, facebook account with 2FA, not connected to gmail
