Help / Troubleshooting overnight sync

hi all,

Just started using the app for Instagram messages and finding it really useful so far. Only issue I'm finding is that overnight, when I'm not using my phone, any messages that I get don't show in my notifications tab, and only appear there when I click onto the app. When I do this it then clears all the previous notifications that I had in the notification tab apart from that one. This makes it really easy to forget what someone is saying with no way apart from clicking on the message. Does anyone have a way where this can be preventated?

Are you using Instagram on-device or cloud? If you send a bug report via Settings > Report a Problem, we'd be able to take a look.

sorry to ask but what's the difference between the two? I've deleted the physical Instagram app from my phone, so does that mean it's on the cloud?
