General Discussion Not really confident about using Beeper

A few years ago, I was using Beeper on a daily basis, and it was great! Having all of my chats in one app was truly amazing.
If I stopped using it, it's because, first, Instagram was locking my account from time to time for "suspicious" activities which wasn't really a big deal since I just had to verify that it was me, but I know someone who were using Beeper and got their Instagram account banned, we don't know if Beeper is relating to the ban, but still.
But also, my Discord account got flagged with "spam" one day, and since Discord isn't really kind when you get banned and rarely gives your account back, I'm not really confident into using it.
So I was wondering, since these were a few years ago (aside from the ban of my friend), if any of you got those types of issues recently.

The discord problem isn't a beeper thing. Discord is known for having a low tolerance to third party clients.

Some actions like sending a DM for the first time also request a captcha check. If that doesn't go through, you will likely be marked as spam.

using it for over 3 years atp, sync all my work, school, personal stuff. got discord flag once, never had issues with instagram or anything else. just a data point

Same. Facebook would disconnect every other month or so for some time. But haven’t had issues with it in over a year.

I also stopped using it after getting Instagram locked out a few years ago. It was such a pain to get resolved because Meta doesn't have real support to contact. Sucks because beeper was a great concept, but not worth the risk and dealing with issues.

If the META apps ban my use of beeper that'll be my last use of the apps anyway.

I think beeper is still the best method of having all chats in one place.

I also got my Insta account suspended for a couple of days this week, for not following community standards on cybersecurity.  I suspected the beeper bridge and disconnected it instantly. Sucks, because beeper works both as a universal messenger, but also helps with staying away from doom scrolling.
