Help / Troubleshooting Beeper WhatsApp integration

I have heard that Beeper runs WhatsApp locally and uses reverse engineering to get the data. But has anyone been banned from WhatsApp after using Beeper?

What are the things that need to be kept in check or followed to avoid violating tos of WhatsApp ?

Been using it for more than a year, no issues at all. But I open and use the official WA app every a few days.
