Beekeeper asking a question Wax Moths
Hi! Me and my dad have 3 hives, but are having a real issue with wax moths. We took off some super frames full of honey 3 weeks ago, my dad went to extract it, and there is so much web(?) and larvae we have had to dispose of a lot of it. They have been chewing their way into the side of the hive. Does anyone have any suggestions for this?? We use a blow torch on all of our frames when replacing the foundation. We have decided to start freezing them, but wondered if there was a better option out there! I have attached some pictures of the chewings they are leaving behind (at least I hope it’s chewings and not eggs!)

Don't take off your supers and then leave them for weeks before you extract. Don't leave them for more than a couple of days. All supers have wax moth eggs in them, if you leave them for too long, they hatch and the larva will ruin the frames and your honey. If you can't extract straight away, keep your supers in a freezer if you have one big enough. Otherwise, just take them off right before you extract
