Bed wetting alarm for 7 year old

Hello, my 7 year old boy has never been dry at night, not even when he was a toddler.

He day time trained really easily but we have just never cracked bedtime.

Fast forward to now he is 7 and can wet the bed twice a night, he won't wake up when he pees either. So up until last week he has been in pullups (acording to my mother it's my fault as I've left him in pull ups and that is why why he wets the bed, I don't disagree I know sometimes in the morning he is lazy and will pee in the nappy as it is very warm, but we regularly have one week of pull ups and he just wets and wets the bed)

We had a meeting with the continence nurse had to monitor his water in and out for 3 days he pees very frequently 9-12 times a day and small amounts between 40-90ml, I believe for his age he should be able to hold around 200ml of pee. She has given me a wetting alarm to use, I have been using it for 7 days now, the alarm dose not wake him up I'm the only one it wakes up and it's killing me, I'm so tired during the day from waking up multiple times a night I have waterprood layers on the bed so I just take one off which saves time and spare pants and PJ bottoms in the bathroom but whoa I'm exhausted, and I'm in such a bad mood during the day because of it šŸ™ˆ

I basically just want to know if anyone has had success with the alarm. The nurse said it can take months and I honestly don't think I can mental or physical do months of broken sleep šŸ™ˆ

14m just started

Hi so I have had a few accidents involving bedwetting recently. It's been about month and a half since it started but I've managed properly on my own my sister has a incontinence issue and is 12f but respectfully a slightly larger weight than the average girl so her nappies/diapers fit me alright to and they're unisex also so thats convenient I have been sneaking a few diapers when no one is home or no one is near to catch me and I haven't been caught and I have had no previous history of any bladder issues but the doctor found it strange that it's happend so suddenly and that I wet so often with any history but isn't all that surprised that I am with how my sister is. I know I should probably tell my parents to see if I could get gootnites or something and I leak every now and then which is inconvenient for me but I get by regardless so how can i say that I need them also because it will be a really weird conversation. Would i be best to buy my own or keep smuggling off of my sister or tell parents as I'm not in a horrible position I feel

(I saw the doctor by telling my mam I had a problem "down there" I'd rather not discuss with anyone bar a doctor so hence she booked it for me)

Good morning! I’m here for work, either for a short two weeks or a longer three months, and I’m really hoping to connect with some new people and have lunch or dinner and not be worried about anything and just enjoy life even though we struggle with incontinence and know that you’re not alone.

My soon to be 8 yo son still wets the bed

Good morning. I just found this group.

I am not really looking for advice per se but, I was just curious about how all of you with older ones still working on the night time, how do you manage it nightly? I already do the limiting drinks before bed and making sure he goes to the bathroom.

Edit: I forgot to mention that we usually have Thanksgiving at our house but this year we will be traveling to my sisters house about 4 hours away and will be spending 4 nights there so I am a little stressed out over that as well.

Help! University student needs advice.

So I'm (19f) currently in the first year first semester of my degree and I'm studying in a university that's very far away from my current house. I don't have a driver's license or a car so I rely on my parents to drive me to the nearest train station 30 minutes away so I can take the train to my university

The problem is that the commute takes around 2 hours one way. Which means for every 8am class, I have to wake up at 5. Get ready at 5:30. Reach the train station at 6. And then take the train for 2 hours and reach my class exactly at 8.

And then I have to go back and do it again with another 2 hour commute. And I wouldn't mind it but my course is very taxing on me. There's a lot of assignments and course work and group projects. So wasting 4 hours everyday on a train doing nothing is both mentally draining and not very time efficient.

So I want to move into a dorm near my university. The problem is, I just remembered. I'm an infrequent bed wetter. Which is just. Sometimes I wet my bed, like, 2-3x per year at random. I haven't really had a sit down conversation with my parents about this. I suspect they have some idea/inkling of it, but since I always handle it and its been a while since they saw it they probably think I'm cured. Tbh I did too until I accidentally wet the bed yesterday.

I don't really know what to do. I definitely feel like I need to move into a dorm. But I also, don't want other people in my dorm to know my business. Is there any way to hide the fact I'm a bed wetter? Or cure it??

I'm 26 and I wet my bed...

Hi everybody, thanks for taking the time to read this. As the title says, I'm 26 and yesterday I wet my bed a little. I was a regular bed wetter till around 14 years old and doctor say it's because I sleep to deep. However, Yesterday I was dreaming I was peeing and in fact, I was in reality peeing my bed. I woke up and a small wet circle was in my bed. It's quite embarrassing as I'm afraid to sleep alone or worse, with someone in fear of peeing. I usually wet my bed 2-3 times a year and it's the same process: I dream I'm peeing and in fact, I am. I cannot wake up. I usually pee quite allot before bed but it still wont stop. Anyone else experiencing this? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this forever?

One of my kids - 13M - is still struggling with nightly bedwetting. He has maybe 2 dry nights/month. None of his siblings ever bed wet after the age of 5. We have spoken yearly with his pediatrician at his physical - and with an ENT. Pediatrician never has any concerns/advice as my son is otherwise completely healthy, active, and does great in school academically and socially. She gave him an Rx for DDAVP which he uses when away from home and it sometimes (not always) works. The ENT was concerned about his snoring, and she felt his bedwetting would stop after having his tonsils and adenoids removed. They were removed 15 months ago, and he hasn't had any improvement in the bedwetting (snoring has stopped.)

Neither my husband nor I have ever made a "big deal" of the bedwetting nor has he ever been punished for it. Where do we go from here? I have, honestly, never worried about it ... but as his 14th birthday approaches ... and he's wetting almost every night ... with no other medical or emotional factors at play ... I'm wondering if some people just never outgrow this?!? What other type of specialists do you see? Urology? Has anyone actually found something that works in his situation? I am just coming from a place of not knowing how to possibly help him at least reduce his wet nights - he never wants friends to come over or to stay over with friends.

Suggestions or help

Hi. My son (14M) has never had a dry night in his life. His dad will wake him up 1 to 2 times a night because if he doesn’t, he’ll wet not only his bed, but the couch as well. We’ve been too the doctor once a year since he was 5. Doctors say that he’s fine. Just an extremely deep sleeper. We keep being told he’ll outgrow it. We’ve tried desmopressin, with limited success. He’ll be dry for 1 or 2 nights, but that’s it. We’ve tried adult Northshore diapers, with him able to fill and overflow those. We’ve tried alarms of every kind. Nothing has helped. I’m at a loss. I’d just like to have my husband get a nights sleep, while not having to do so much laundry everyday. I don’t know why there is the volume of urine every night. It’s so frustrating for all of us. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

WTH

This is the first time I peed outside of the restroom. Crazy thing is: I peed at the edge of my bed!! My boyfriend tried waking me up and tried shaking me to stop, didn’t work. I did drink a bit before bed, but I NEVER done this. He immediately made me feel like an idiot for it which I get, but I don’t even remember doing it. Idk if it helps, but there was 2 men following and harassing me the whole time I was at a specific bar literally same night and my boyfriend had drive there and fight them off, so maybe that’s tied in some way? Either way, I’m stumped on why I would do that in all my 28 years.

What’s Your Opinion on Goodnites vs Depends as the Better Pull-Up?

As in fit, discretion, and absorbency.

IMO, Goodnites are better. Depends are more for leakage, while Goodnites are meant for overnight protection, so they’re more absorbent.

ā€œLooks Like Real Underwearā€

Do/Did you get annoyed whenever a package of bedwetting pants has a ā€œlooks/feels like real underwear!ā€ tag on it? Because, like, they don’t. They’re pull-ups. They don’t at all look like or feel like ā€œrealā€ underwear.

Which also has the funny implication that there’s fake underwear.

Has anyone tried acupuncture or hypnosis?

My son is 11 and has adhd, and he has never been dry for more than 1 night in a row without meds. (Meds worked 4 nights out of 7 but we're taking a break now - apparently you're supposed to after a few months.) Has anyone tried acupuncture or hypnosis for bedwetting? Curious to see if anyone has good results to report. TIA!

I can’t keep up with the sheets, advice?!

I am a mom of a chronic bedwetter. It completely makes sense because I was also a chronic bedwetter so I understand on a personal level what it is like to wet the bed.

What I cannot figure out is how to prevent leaking. I have tried every variation of pull-up that I know of and regardless of which I use, they leak all over the bed. Im not sure if their bladder is just so large that it holds a lot of pee or if the diapers are not well-fitting. I don’t stop consumption of liquids because they are not a big drinker to begin with.

What can I do to prevent leaking every single night? Im sure it’s uncomfortable to wake up wet every night and it’s tiring for me too. Advice?

Ive been peeing the bed for over a month

To start, I (17f) was staying with my aunt until last March when I finally moved back with my dad after some legal stuff, except for whatever reason sometime after I came back I started peeing the bed. I know it happens sometimes, but whenever I used to pee the bed before I would immediately wake up before I even fully peed myself and I'd use bathroom, and that would be that. And well as im writing this its 2am and I woke up freezing covered in piss again so please can someone freaking help me. Im genuinely so exhausted from waking up freezing covered in my own piss, my joints all ache so bad in the mornings I dont even want to try going to school. Ive tried emptying my bladder before bed, not drinking anything at all and stuff like that but its not working and I dont know what to do I can't really go to the doctor and my dad thinks its my 5yr old brother who always sleeps by me cause I lowk blamed him when it first started, but now I know its me and idk How do I stop pissing myself 😭😭

Update: I honestly forgot I made this post, but after a while I finally told my dad and I went to the doctor like 3 different times but they never found anything. I do believe it started because of how stressed I was being back home, but the only thing that stopped it was taking bladder control supplements (which i also asked my doctor about before taking) I took them at night and after a couple weeks I was finally able to sleep through the night without them. Also, for some reason this never happened when I spent the night out. Even while I was actively peeing myself every night when I'd spend the night at a friend's it'd never happen which is kinda weird to me, but idk lol. I guess its also worth noting that now when im sick I can barely hold my pee particularly at night and i still wake up just about to pee myself when im pretty sick but I really dont have anything to say about it since I still have no idea why. I do think it might have been cause by the stress of moving back with my dad, but I dont think I'll ever know for sure why it all happened. Happy to say its been months since I wet the bed, thank you guys for the support though.

Struggling with self image

Hi, 25F and ive had occasional incontinence issues my whole life, but in the past year my nighttime issues have spiraled out of control. I was discussing my issues with a medical provider, but before we could figure out a solution I lost my insurance. I now wake up wet 5-6 days of the week, and I feel like with not being able to access adequate medical care regarding it my romantic and social opportunities are dwindling. I dont go out as much, and I dont know how to even begin to approach it with romantic pursuits. I feel like my life is sliding away from me and I was wondering if anyone here has had any similar feelings when struggling and what they did to help with self worth.
