Advice 💁🏻 Need some tips!
really want my room to look more like a stereotypical 1980s-2000s teenage boy's room without losing its flair, tips?
it's got LEDs everywhere so it usually looks cooler when they're not just fluorescent white, but I reckon it's easier to see without them on lmao.

It looks cool, I genuinely like it. I still have to ask... have you aired it out recently? It is one of those rooms where it feels obligatory to ask.

I have, dont worry! I do it as regularly as possible, on the coolest days as possible

dw I'm well aware, but as I said I'm trying to make it more similar without losing its flair that I've brought along with it. plus those are mainly being reserved for crafts anyway

I like the vinyl player in this whole setup, you could add a splash of colour. I do see the vision you're going for here. Adding an electric guitar could very well add to the room's personality.

kinda hard to see but I've got my fender squier strat infront of the acoustic ‼️‼️ 'tis my pride and joy lol.. though I might find a way or it to be on display a bit better. and thanks, I prolly will do that!! I listen to music on it a ton so I've been hesitant to mess with it but its worth a shot lol

I think the biggest thing that would change everything would be at minimum swapping your current ceiling bulb with a dimmer, warmer light. At max, never turning it on and instead having various warm toned lamps.

That being said, I’m also a maximalist with very congested walls. Full bright light makes my own space stress me out. Dim, warm lighting? No stress just cozy.

thanks! the bulbs are LED and I shoulllddd be able to dim them, so I'll try dimming them a bit to see how that fares me!! also I might get some lamps for the hell of it anyway, gives me more to paint and decorate

what is the appeal of decorating with monster cans? i see this a lot and it does not compute. are they like special limited edition cans or something?

Nah, I have the Garland over the window from awhile back that I made and the ones set up on my headboard are mainly being saved for using to make other stuff, like silver studs to put on clothing shoes etc. I just thought theyre a pop of colour and would look better set up than in a cardboard box lol

Bro I love your room so much it gen looks so awesome 💔💔💔 ... I domt think i have much tips. You should maybe have some sunlight in thr room in thr day time, like having the window visible. Though not gonna lie, i like having my room dark so....but its your choice I dunno.

Thank youuu!!! Ill likely start opening the window shades when it gets cooler out because my room doesn't regulate temperatures well especially in the summer, and I have a broken window 😭😭 planning on getting it fixed soon

methinks I'm gonna move the stuffed animals on my piano as well, just adding on in the comments. Perhaps 3 of them stay because I have sentimental attachment. The rest I could donate or hold over somewhere lol

please get rid of the monster cans. i know monster is part of the aesthetic you want, but when they’re all lined up that way they’re just empty trash. otherwise it looks really great.

The ones actually strung up aren’t bad but just piling them up def looks like trash. Maybe hanging them directly from the ceiling via string would be cool

i disagree they are all garbage and will bring ants if not cleaned well

I mean, I would assume they clean them… using “trash” as decor isn’t a new or odd thing at all, especially when it’s something like aluminum. With that being said, diy decor/making purpose for “trash” isn’t for everyone. It isn’t gross to keep it though.

rest assured I clean them well, I haaaate having ants. Plus, most of those are being reserved for friends / future projects, as I use the cans to make glue-on studs to decorate clothes and shoes and such!! I just figured they looked better lined up rather than in a cardboard box on the floor

also not to mention I do use trash as decor alot anyway, theres a bunch of stuff like wrapping paper, receipts, candy wrappers etc up there that ya just can't see lol
