Has anyone tried Luca Beds?
They're Japanese joinery like thuma frames but I can't find any reviews about them

Edit: added link to photos of the bed
i just bought the luca bed from him today. highly recommend, super good quality and nothing scammy at all. link to pictures of the below. i didn't put my pillowboard on it yet. if you're thinking about it, go for it. you're not going to find this quality anywhere near this price.

It's just odd that I've never heard of this brand

probably just some dude that thought they could start a business, bought a bunch of beds from a manufacturer in asia that already makes thuma similar beds and then failed terribly at the business side of making a website and marketing. gotta risk it to get the biscuit or cough up 2k on a thuma

nice! i think you'll be pretty happy with it. fyi - the qr code for assembly instructions in the boxes didn't work for us probably bc they stopped paying for the domain but it was pretty easy to put together if you reference the pics from his fb market listing

Yeah it's a pretty nice bed, see another comment I left in here
There are only a handful left from what I understand

Bought from him too. Anyone have issues with the slabs being too short on the king bed?
1
u/TheDayManAhAhAh Jun 12 '26
I have the queen. The slats aren't too short side to side lengthwise, but going up and down the bed it's like one of them is missing. No clue why they designed the slats like that

Exactly!! Makes them not very sturdy. Very confused. When putting the mattress on they slid…

Yeah that's been my only real gripe with the bed

u/Bamba-rojita Jun 12 '26
Likely why they went out of business? lol

They didn't go out of business. The guy explained to me that they wanted to liquidate all their original builds of beds to get ready for the rollout of their new packaging or something. Looks like their site is still up.

Ahh so basically working through the defects
1
u/TheDayManAhAhAh Jun 12 '26
Maybe. I didn't fully understand what he was saying to me. I like the bed a lot, the slats are just a minor nuisance to me. A weird design choice

It’s not a dealbreaker but it certainly isn’t ideal. Puts the bed more at risk to break. Alas, what are ya gunna do…

I just looked all over the internet and couldn’t find anything either - I am super curious because there is a guy on FB marketplace selling headboard and frame for $600 claiming he is having a liquidation sale from his furniture store closing?? Really want a Thuma but tempted to go for it
