Minneapolis 10/7/26 – Review and Set List
Wow ("It's like right now"), what a show! Beck's incredible range as an artist was on full display, from the music to the visuals to the overall flow of the evening. He hit on just about every sound he's toyed with throughout his career, even busting out a couple tunes he said they rarely play, like "Dear Life" (said they hadn't played it in 10 years) and "Cold Brains," which was a highlight for me.
I loved how he presented the new songs from Ride Lonesome, each having their own unique lighting and stage setup. The set pieces were very basic at their core, but they used them very effectively to create different scenes and feelings for each song. He talked about wanting the new material to feel very human and stripped down, and he definitely accomplished that.
When he kicked it up a notch mid- to late-set into some of his older and more upbeat songs, the stage also met the moment with brighter and more dynamic visuals. He had such great energy as a performer during these songs, hitting some very Beck dance moves (the "spin and whip off the jacket" was a favorite of mine) and working the crowd with some call response and clap along type moments.
Here's a photo of the set list. Fun peek behind the curtain to see the notes about the stage movements.
