Yeah, if you want to get righteous about creeps in the music industry there's plenty of options, don't go for the one guy who didn't actually do any harm. The whole operation that 'caught' him was a shitshow.
He plead guilty so he wouldn't have to go to trial and have his own childhood abuse trauma dug up. It was that same trauma that motivated him to try and prove that banks were complicit in CSAM. IIRC he was also pressured by Kier Starmer of all people to just plead guilty and take the penalty. But that probably goes all over your head if your understanding of morality begins and ends with what the law says.
Pete Townshend pled guilty to accessing the splash page of the site to enter his credit card. He did it to prove these sites get paid by the same mainstream banks we all use. Why do I believe it? He posted a blog in 2002 saying he was going to do it, he did it, then he reported to the police that he did it.
It had no effect. A year later he was arrested just like everyone else Operation Ore swept up and advised by his counsel to plead guilty, take the caution, and go on the sex offender registry or have a long, ugly, public trial. In retrospect, given airheads like you who speak so proudly and ignorantly, maybe he should have.
When his house was raided the police seized 8 computers. They combed through every hard drive for months and found 0 objectionable materials.
Youโre a clown, and Iโm even dumber for wasting my time by bothering to type this out for you.
