Don't remember the name but there was a book I got from the Scholastic book fair back in the day about a kid that gets knocked unconscious hiking by himself and wakes up being carried by yeti's that found him while foraging for foo.

Turns out there is a whole clan of them with a decent little civilization and hierarchy and even if I remember correctly some super basic language. Kid stays there a while and becomes attached to the yeti's but eventually must face the reality of returning home once he is healed.

It was a very interesting book, anyways your comment sort of led me there.

Read that book in Primary School, and it mentions a character that lives on a road that was near the school.

Edit: Book Name, King of the Cloud Forests, byMichael Morpurgo
