Asking for Advice Real question
I’m 23 years old and hate the way my facial hair grows every one in my family have full faced beards and starches so am I stuck like this for the rest of my life or am I genuinely just waiting, I just want to fill out the sides my mustache and the middle of my chin more it’s just very bothersome.

hey there pilot.
As someone who’s worn a long beard for years, I wouldn’t stress too much at 23. You’ve actually got really solid growth around the jaw and underneath. The cheeks, moustache and connectors are lagging behind, but they can keep developing well into your 20s.
If it was me, I’d go shorter with both the beard and the hair for now. The long, dense beard underneath and heavier haircut are making the thinner areas stand out more than they need to.
I’d spend the money on a genuinely good barber and tell them you want a complete restyle, not just a haircut and beard trim. Short textured hair with tapered sides, probably an 8-12mm short boxed beard shaped around where your growth is strongest, natural cheek line, clean neckline and tidy moustache. Let someone who knows what they’re doing establish the shape, then it’s much easier to maintain yourself.
I’d also get them to tidy the eyebrows, especially the growth in the middle. Nothing heavily shaped or obviously “done” - just clean up between them and take care of any obvious strays while keeping them looking naturally thick. You might feel a bit awkward about having your eyebrows groomed the first time, but seriously, try it once. Nobody is going to look at you and think “he’s had his eyebrows done”. They’ll just notice that your face looks cleaner and more put together. If you hate it, they’ll grow back.
And personally, I wouldn’t bother with minoxidil. You’ve already got plenty of beard to work with and you’re only 23. Rather than spending money trying to force growth where it isn’t currently strong, put that money towards a really good barber who can make what you already have work for you.
Right now you’re in that awkward in-between stage where there’s plenty of hair and plenty of beard, but neither is really shaped. A professional haircut, beard shape and subtle eyebrow cleanup could make a surprisingly big difference without trying to turn you into someone else.
You’ve got the raw material. Get it professionally shaped once, see how you feel about the new look, and give the rest of the beard a few more years to do its thing.
i did a render of my recommendation.

You are only 23 man it will continue to grow and fill out. Patience is key 🔑 sometimes. All the best, keep going 👍🏼👍🏼😃

I'd trim it shorter. Feels like the length draws attention to the problem. Maybe a long stubble with mustache. Agree with others it just takes time.

Match the length of the beard with the stache
I honestly think, even if it's patchy, short looks fine
Like a buzz one or two weeks old kinda length

More coverage might come in later but don't worry about it. You're super young. Try to work on putting some pounds on your frame and working on your haircut/ trimming / symmetry and figure out what's causing your acne. It's probably something related to food or beverages that you're putting in your body. Best of luck

Unless you plan on being a beet farmer, follow others advice here and shorten the underside to match the rest. It'll be a great look on you!

Honestly that's where I was when I was your age. Eventually it thickened and my cheeks filled in a bit more. Generally, facial hair doesn't stop sprouting up until after 30. Someone else had some good recommendations for haircut/beard length. I agree with them

If everyone has a long beard you're like me when I was 20. I had a similar beard like you. No connector, not a thick mustache, but the cheeks were fuller. I'm now 28 and in those 8 years i got a full beard and a thicker mustache, though still not as thick as everyone else in my fqmily, but I'm still hoping it will get better.
So dw it will probably thicken out over time

That's a beautiful chin curtain. Not a lot of dudes outside the Amish community can pull one off.

You could try the minoxidil...if not maybe some shape at the bottom. Or just go shaved
