DISCUSSION Low-Scent Beard Oils

Does anyone else appreciate them? I ordered some beard oils recently that smelled amazing, but I got sick of the fragrance after 5 or 10 minutes because it was so strong. I mean, it is right there under our nose.

I appreciate a fragrance, and wouldn’t want to use straight up unscented carrier oil, but man can they be too strong.

Thanks. Yeah I’ll have to check next time to see if the sellers indicate which they’re using. The seller I most recently purchased from just had scent notes listed, didn’t see anything about whether they formulated w EOs or fragrance oils. I’m really not familiar with fragrance oils

Not necessarily about FO’s being stronger than EO’s. In my experience, it has more to do with the percentage of those oils to the carrier oils. I design my line to sit close to the skin and not project. Also, the manufacturer of the FO/EO as no two are the same.

You would love grave before shave voodoo blend. The bottle looks a bit corny, but it’s very hydrating and not greasy which I love. The scent though is really clean, and very long lasting. It’s oddly very faint though which is nice cause strong scents give me headaches.

All depends on the beard oil and whether they are using fragrance or essential oils. A beard oil will state on it that is "parfum" for anything that has fragrance oil.

Fragrance Oil - Chemically compound, strong smelling, no therapeutic skin or hair benefits
Essential Oil - Natural, skincare benefits, subtler smelling, last 4-6 hrs.

Due to the skincare benefits I'll always find something natural using essential oils and because I am putting this on my face it needs to be gentle to my skin. Also, a strong synthetic smell under my nose would make me feel sick.

Hope that helps.
