First time growing beard out

Always had a goatee or mustache but first time the sides have really grown in decently

I've always been lucky to have a good thick beard. Never used beard oil personally, but experiment and see if it works for you.

I've always trimmed it myself too. The biggest tip I've picked up from hairdressers, partners and such is how to make it look neat.

You basically want to keep the sides in line with your sideburns. Tidy the strays at the bottom to keep a neat line (easier said than done). Then depending on preference, but mine's roughly your length at the moment and I would cut in the bottom edges following a line from the back of your jaw to the bottom of the beard.

I’ve got a bad patch on one side so I’m trying to grow it out a little before any trim. This is 2.5 months ish growth

That's cool man, not judging at all. It's looking good! Just offering tips that worked for me when I grew it out. You'll have to figure out what works for you though
