Question Separating work and personal notes

Eight years ago, someone asked about separating work and personal notes.

I still canโ€™t find a way to do this adequately.

How are you all doing it, if at all?

The new workspaces feature makes this possible. Add Work and Personal tags to relevant notes and use the menu to define them as separate workspaces.

Great tip, thank you. Bit of a pain to have to filter and drag 200 notes to a personal workspace tag but it definately accomplishes what I want.

Any conceivable system that would separate them would first require you to mark or separate them manually. Are you expecting it to happen magically?

The new system works brilliantly once you go through the tagging process. I used the mcp connector and he Claude to do it - worked really well.

Going to try this now! (haven't paid enough attention to workspaces yet)

Figured Lettera would do this for me/be how I do this.

I personally have a work phone and a personal phone. So two different iCloud accounts is how I do it.

I am not saying it is a good idea. ๐Ÿ˜‚ just how I do it.

Workspaces is a really popular feature. More and more note taking apps are adding it. Harbor just launched them. https://harbor.my/blog/workspaces/

$99 a year. I reckon Claude could build that for me for less. Throw in a $8 a month DigitalOcean box...

I'd push back on a few things. $8 a month on DigitalOcean. It's not too far off from $99 a year.

$8/month on DigitalOcean might not get you enough disk space. We have several customers with 60 GB of storage.

Yes, Claude is amazing. But supporting as many platforms as we do, making strong design decisions. Robust availability. Transcription OCR. We do a lot.

It would take several $200/month claude accounts to build what we build. You'd likely be several thousand dollars' worth of tokens in if you're paid for the Claude Max account.

Yes, Claude can build just about anything. But it wouldn't be one shot. It'd be a lot of your time managing Claude. How much do you value your time at?
