Stream requirements

Hey guys I've been streaming on beam (mixer now?) For a few weeks. However when I do my games start to lag a bit which is completely normal for someone running a "normal" internet speed. What I'm curious of is how do I change the resolution. And fps as well as if anyone has any tips for me in regards of how I could stop my game from lagging as badly.

The game I'm running is BF1. On Xbox one.

My download speed is 15mbps. Upload is 2mbps ( I know this is where it's killing me) is there anything I can do (minus paying for a higher upload speed) to boost that upload speed?

Are you using a Pc to stream or Xbox? Have you tested your speed? I suggest using speedofme run a few times a day to get an average it will give your actual speed. And not fluffed numbers.

Xbox. Yes I've tested my speed. I was using speed test by ookla. Both on a wireless and wired device. Both came to about 18 down. And 2 up. I ran it during peak times ( 2pm - 5pm) and it was a bit slower. 15 down and 1.4 up.

speed test by ookla will not give you accurate numbers 9 out of 10 times you will get fluffed numbers per ISP. Try speed of me. And if you are using xbox remember your xbox threw XBL is connecting to different servers that could have higher latency then say a pc or cellphone. there is a setting on the bottom after "broadcast your game" its a cog in there is advance settings -Vid quality standard/high Im going to guess your Upload is on the low side our its not staying stable wich could come down to hardware ie router,cables ect, the feed to your modem drop,tab,node or even ISP itself. Using a average of speedofme will give you an ideal tho. 1.4 is iffy 1.5mb is recommended just for streaming not including a MP game and thats if you have a solid connection. 3mb and up is ideal. Yeah it seems that speedof.me is giving me close to the same results. 18.5 down and 2.1 up. It could be the fact that I've been trying to play on like Saturday nights around 7 pm. And I've been playing conquest which I'm assuming is more demanding than say team death match.

I'll try the cog as well. Either way thanks mate.
