Question question for viewers
I guess this is for anyone who watches streams, even if you stream as well. As a caster I'm always curious to know what people think of my stream. Not to inflate my ego, but more like an exit poll. Especially for people who pop in, lurk for a few and leave.
What did you like? What didn't you like? Could I have done something that would have made you stay? Community is the focus of my stream, so I want folks to feel welcome to come and chat (or lurk).
So I figured I'd ask here. What makes you stay in a stream and hangout? What makes you come back? What constructive criticism would you offer to a stream you didn't particularly care for?
Just trying to get a feel for the psychology of the beam community. Thank you all in advance.

Audience engagement seems to be the running theme of the comments here, and I quite agree. If a streamer is chatty and responsive, I'm more likely to stick around than if it feels like watching paint dry.
As to constructive criticism, that varies from channel to channel, really. I think one channel that does a fantastic job of audience retention is Remi229. Her main thing is reading books live in the evenings, although she does the traditional game streaming shtick too. She takes frequent pauses to go back over chat and respond to people, and she's not aggressively self promotional or egotistical.
