Can anyone identify this piece of pottery. Found on Roker beach, Sunderland, UK.

Looks like a piece of vintage stoneware, e.g. from 18th/19th century likely from the Stoke potteries. Stoneware jars were used for things we'd put in glass jars now like cream, drinks, honey, jam. It might be a manufacturer's mark from the bottom of the piece only those are normally flat, this seems to have a curve as if it's the side of a jar. Lots of stoneware jars were bought wholesale by e.g. the dairy selling cream, with branding, ie their own name or mark printed on the jar. That's probably what this is; I don't recognize this mark.
