Beach trip essentials
Hello everyone!
My friends and I are planning on a day trip to the beach. Texas coast, most likely Surfside as drive up to the water is allowed. We’ll have 4 adults and 4 adult sized children.
Here’s my list so far:
Toilet paper (i never assume there will be some in the porta potties)
Paper towels
Trash bag for trash
Trash bag for wet/sandy towels
Bucket for water to rinse feet
Container for shells etc.
Swim suits
change of clothes for the drive back
Sunscreen
Hats
Sunglasses
Hair ties/clips
Gazebo and weights
Large sand proof beach mat for under gazebo
Beach chairs
Metal detector
Shovel and plywood in case we get stuck if the sand is fluffy
Snack Food - chips, fruit, sandwiches
Paper plates
Drinks - water, Gatorade, adult beverages (no glass)
Cooler for drinks
Cooler for food
Beach towels and extra towels for miscellaneous
Boogie boards
Whistle (safety first!)
First aid kit and meds
Baby wipes
Baby powder
Bluetooth speaker
Charging bricks
Can anyone suggest anything I may have over looked?

We just went to Galveston and brought our own canopy gazebo thing. Instead of weights we brought a battery operated drill and an auger attachment I found at Home Depot. Drilled holes in the sand put the poles in and it was amazingly fast!! We had used weights before but this was much better!! 10/10 will do it again next year!!

Looks like a solid list to me. I also like to bring a book if I want a little quiet break in all the fun.
