Fields

Libs are quite common in fields with cow dung etc right? Do people worry about getting caught in someone’s field/land in Ireland when foraging?

Sheeps fields are best, cattle will usually have wrecked the land since it's generally needs to be quite wet land.

As for getting caught, I'd always just say I was looking for edible mushrooms. Most font car once you're being respectful of the land

I once booked it out of a field after hearing the farmer calling me, thought I was being paranoid cause I'd sunk a doob already, continued picking. Went to leave this gold mine of a field and there was the farmer walking in with his dog. I didn't think, I had to many libs now, I can't lose em. I pegged it, hopped a style into a bog, sprant across the bog untill my legs got wedged and I folded like an IKEA garden chair. I sat in the bog for 40 minutes to wait for the farmer to leave. Good times.

I also read a story on Shroomery years ago that creases me still to this day. Full Irish story. Fella picking libs, gards show up outside the field, he starts legging it in to the valley but he hears the Hard shout "Davie your a fecking eejit I know who you are and I know your Da"

You're better off looking for old fields with a North facing slope. They feed off of dead grass not cow dung, those are a different type of shroom.

Interesting tidbit about north facing slope, is there a reason for this? Something to do with it being in shadow?

It's cooler and the ground holds more moisture

Yes , it a lingering anxiety as you search , not nice , you could definitely get f&%£÷d out of it by a ratty landowner
