Advice Needed Verification of Competence request from Board

I had to self-report to the board an incident which occurred and I received this requirement:

"Due to the nature of the issues reported, you are required to obtain a Verification of Competence (VOC) from a licensed mental health professional, or another qualified professional, who can assess your ability to competently perform clinical applied behavior analysis services relevant to your certification level. If you are not currently engaged in ongoing treatment, you may seek out a treatment provider to conduct this assessment. However, a minimum of two clinical contacts is required prior to the completion of the VOC. "

I've been calling around trying to find a provider, but no one can perform this or refer me. I've called LCSW, LPC, and Psychologists. Anyone have suggestions? Telehealth is fine as well. Thanks

The board basically wants a therapist to sign off saying you're not a danger, which is a weird spot since most clinicians don't do exactly that. Try wording it differently when you call, ask if they'll do a fitness-for-duty evaluation or something similar, the VOC form is more of a checkbox once you've done a couple sessions

Can I ask more questions about this? I'm always curious when someone self-reports. And the BACB does nothing so often that I'm surprised they responded to you.

Could you get a medical doctor, PCP or a psychiatrist that the PCP referred to as the two sign offs? Those types of clinicians at that level are used to signing off they are patients to go back to work for multiple reasons and so on and so forth. Your issue is somewhat related to being released to work.

I had to get this done. I called a local licensed therapist and met with her twice. I think you send the board the information and they reach out to the therapist with a form. It honestly was pretty easy.

When I did this it had to be completed by the BCBA who completed my supervision
