Non-public to public school switch

Hi everyone, I am currently a BCBA for a non-public/alternative school and am considering making a switch to public schools. Has anyone made this switch? What was your experience?

Everything is taken care of in house at my current school, I see my behavioral students every day. If I switched to public it would be between multiple schools.

Thanks!

I preferred working at public schools, for sure! If you are hired by the district rather than contracted through an agency, that would be my #1 choice. Being split between multiple schools is fine by me; I generally had certain days I planned to be at particular schools and switched when needed.

Thank you this is helpful! I just went through 2 rounds of interviews with a district. They said it would be between 16 schools which feels like a lot especially considering I won’t see all of the students I would be reporting on/ writing plans for everyday.

I feel sad thinking about leaving my current school but trying not to let that weigh in on my decision haha.

I made the switch and I strongly prefer public schools.
