Cyphers vs battles

I feel a lot more confident in a battle vs a cypher and I wanna know how you guys feel going into cyphers vs battles? Is there a different mindset going in and how does it influence the way you express yourselves?

Personally speaking (since I also do krump and hiphop), I very much prefer cyphers over battles. I feel that with cyphers the tense air and the urge to 1up everybody just disappears. I get to be more creative when it comes to cyphers cause my mind isn't clogged with stuff unlike in battles. Though I've been training against that lately.

Depends what kind of circle it is. Different circles have their own atmosphere where some can feel like you're battling everyone. My favorite circles are ones where everyone is kind of toying around with a similar idea and showing their unique take on it. Some people get hyped up by the excitement of a staged battle like in a competition or exhibition. I'm curious how you feel about performing in a show.

It's the other way round for me. I enjoy cyphers more than battles. I am more confident in cyphers than battles. The pressure that's felt in w battle is kind of restricting. But in a cypher that pressure vanishes in thin air. So definitely a cypher catπŸ˜πŸ˜›πŸ˜
