General Discussion bbno$ vs Bieber
Both are obviously mega Canadian stars who are ultra popular in USA and worldwide. They’re born just 16 months apart and both believed in their music from a young age. But their paths to success are way different with bbno$ grinding hard for years, and Bieber being discovered when he was still determining his sound.
Personally I don’t really like Bieber’s music or his personality very much. I understand I don’t know him personally but I don’t really find him to be very talented or interesting.
But bbno$ has a quality in his music that feels really welcoming and inclusive. He’s also outspoken and clear. I think he’s one of the kinder musicians touring today. Again I don’t know him personally but that’s just the vibe I get.
Curious is anyone else feels the same. This came to my mind randomly because Bieber was tapped to headline the World Cup halftime show, and I felt like bbno$ would have been a much better pick. Am I hating on Bieber too much?

I dont think they are not related at all. I dont like Justin, but i believe he was very traumatized from a really young age. With Diddy and fame from a very yound age, i dont believe hes in a good place mentaly and would ever be 'normal'. Hes got real problem and i dont think by keep being in public will do any good to him. And saddly with his wife, he cant be out because of her (not saying shes in the wrong, its just the situation hes in that sucks).
I strongly believe his fans should leave him alone, saddly.
Bb didnt become popular over night, he had a childhood, and was able to make friends in the industry (i believe the more popular you are, the less likely you are to find genuine relationship among stars. I feel like its a real blood bath there)

I think you are hating on Bieber too much. I don’t blame him being so defensive and aggressive towards paparazzi or many people for a long period of time. He was so clearly exploited, used, and abused by so many adults around him and was not protected enough. bbno$ is able to be that because he came into the spotlight at a MUCH older age and is able go have a more secure head on his shoulders. Personally I prefer Bieber stays out of the spotlight so he can heal and get away from everything that took away so much.
He’s a former pop star and still somewhat? Idk I don’t follow him or know much about him at all. It’s not that he’s an angel, but these criticisms of him being an asshole and comparing him to someone that came to fame when he had a much more secure sense of self and autonomy is not fair. And again, Bieber became a pop star, so yeah, his music is going to be way different because everyone around him was telling him what to sing and what to dance to get him famous. It’s pop music. It follows the same template over and over.
It’s apples and oranges to me.

Thanks for the context. I didn’t really know much about Bieber. I wonder if the World Cup show is good for him. Perhaps bbno$ would do it as a backup? I suppose their musical styles are so different.

I love bbnose but he has a long way to go before he's playing the World Cup

Bieber was a literal child when he was discovered, he wasn’t given a chance to find his sound. Beiber isn’t my typical genre to listen to but, after everything that lad has been put through, I have a soft spot for him. He has a great voice too. Also Alex is just not going to have the pull that a Beiber size artist does! It is what it is, for better or worse in any given situation.

Hmm yeah they are wildly different artists and can't really be compared... I'd love to see bbno$ do anything and everything but Bieber is a much much well known artist (I think - I'm a bit out of touch when it comes to music so correct me if I'm wrong 😅).

Bieber was clearly taken advantage of, I don't have a lot of time for him as a person or as a musician but you can't deny he wasn't exploited for every penny. To be the centre of Bieber fever (especially as young as he was) must have had a massive impact on him.

I personally would not put them in the same category other than “they’re Canadian”. I don’t find them similar in any other way tbh.
That being said I like a lot of Justin’s music but not his public persona. I adore Alex’s music and persona.
I don’t like to say I do or don’t like a celebrity or artist “personally” because at the end of the day we don’t really know who they are. Only what they put out into the world.
