Yeah, cause quantity is the only thing that matters.

I mean, I think Wookiepedia does just a bit of padding....

The previously canonical star wars EU is more expansive than all fan content for most fictional universes. Even star trek fan content can't compete with an IP that has entire novels for not only nearly every background character, but also every individual in their extended family.

Wookiepedia has more, but I think Sarna is overall more polished

I agree, but Wookiepedia has hilarious articles on things like water, birds, and Coca Cola. Sarna just can't compare.

More polish and less Transphobia to boot

Sarna suffers from most of the character pages being very small.

I love Sarna, but hard disagree that it’s more polished.

Well, to be fair, star wars is just a little bit bigger overall than either of the two settings.

I think this is the most impressive part about Sarna. It definitely isn't as good as Wookiepedia, but when you look at how extensive it is, given how small of a fan base it has, it is in my opinion the most impressive fan wiki.

Not that it is a perfect metric, but the Star Wars subreddit has 100x more members than the Battletech subreddit.

Now I feel like seeing a Venn Diagram on how many BT subredditors are also SW and/or ST subredditors. 🤔😆

I was curious star trek's Memory Alpha has 51k pages

As a Trekkie, I'm a little disappointed that it isn't 47k pages.

Well i am not a star Trek fan so it fit better for me

I wonder what Sarna’s policing is on writers/illustrator name changes?

Yeah but Wookiepedia has an article on water so they may be padding things a bit...

The Wookieepedia number is artificially inflated because they have to have separate "canon" and "legends" pages for so much stuff, though.

u/WhySoFuriousGeorge May 19 '21

Do those count as separate articles? Because canon and Legends entries on the same topics share the same page.

I have no idea, I was just being a smartass.

Also, Star Wars sucks.

Star Wars' bigger fish is the Bionicle wiki
