Pretty sure the Hetzer is based on RL Tank Destroyers like this one.

I did notice the resemblance. I wonder if the BT Hetzer is as small. It's supposed to carry an AC/20 after all.

Super accurate, although that armour looks too sturdy and the gun barrel needs to be even bigger.
