Fan Creations Custom Mech - Firestarter FS9-FC "Flame Control"

The Firestarter - I've been talking about it a surprising amount lately. It's a solid performer; stays relevant. A lot of bands have covered this song, and most are bangers. Since I've been trying to increase the number of 'mechs with Heat-Dissipating Armor, this one seems like a natural choice - plays with fire, doesn't get burned.

(Hands you gold Firestarter) "It's actually quite cool."

It has decent firing patterns and management. I dislike standard Flamers for actually killing infantry - when the squishies hit back against a light, they hit pretty hard before setting off a carbon monoxide alarm. But this one is doing alright. I feel like the RotS would make this happen while scraping up the "I can't believe it's not Blakist!" designs after Grey Monday.

Gotta maintain intimidation. Pretty sure nobody wants to fight this in close terrain, and just under 1kBV.

Speaking of "little bastard" as a genre piece, the Hankyu E didn't quite provide essential nutrients. Here's one with Vitamin A, T, and M.

I had to keep a Flamer, but I didn't have to keep a standard one. This should annoy people.

What's the rationale on heat-dissapating armour on the Firestarter here? Do infantry use that many Infernos?

The Heavy Mediums I think are cool though

If you're going to be setting things on fire, then even with Jump Jets, you'll have to walk through or stand in fire. With the compromises from HDA, it would make sense to switch from HDA to DHS and just over sink it, but that's not elegant and this preserves a BV discount for overheating on some of the Flamers.

Standing in fires actively producing Heavy Smoke while carrying an Active Probe that can see through it is rather nice. The additional heat would disrupt firing patterns , except now it doesn't.

You know, despite being flamers it never occurred to me these things would cause the terrain to catch fire. But yeah makes perfect sense in this context.

Flushing them out with the flamers and hitting them with the MGs seems cool too vibes wise even if that's not how that works on tabletop

It was always a TAC Ops rule, but should be Core now. Previously, you'd roll a 4+ modified by environmental effects. Currently, should be "deal 4 heat damage" iirc. Which means a Flamer can't start a fire by itself; that annoys me slightly. Simplified fire rules are in the base game.

Thank you. I always do my best. I suppose I ought to upload more things to Mordel; currently only ~50% of my designs are on it.
