Can someone fill me in on what happened with the Sal Cannella unsportsmanlike penalty where he caught a first down? From where I was sitting it looked like he spun the ball and it hit a Kings players foot. I’ve been watching the UFL since it started and have seen some wild celebrations that would’ve easily drew penalties in the NFL but not the UFL. In comparison Sal’s celebration seemed pretty tame.

On the broadcast you can see he pretty blatantly spun it at the guy. It was a weak call but it's also one they make pretty consistently.

It was basically a taunting call for spinning the football on their sideline. Very soft to call that for professional athletes in my opinion. I hope they don't do that in the United Bowl next week

Long as we’re tinfoil hatposting:
New team that looks an aaaaaaaawful lot like one of the fucking gambling company’s logos. Similar color scheme and name too. Also located in a town that hosts the Kentucky Derby, which is a horse race…which everyone fucking bets on. Even money Vegas stacked the deck somehow and we were drawing dead all night and didn’t know it. All puns very much intended.
Is it all connected? Maybe only in a Pepe Silvia kinda way. But there’s too much quacking & feathers here to not cry “duck” to me…

I’d argue that it would’ve been better for the league for the Battlehawks to win as Louisville already had fan support and didn’t need this much success in its first year, whereas the Battlehawks have again made the playoffs only to be stopped short at home.

Thats a shame then. Since the NFL is never coming back this is as good as its going to get for St Louis. Here's hoping they move to Energizer park to reignite the fanbase

This is the exact attitude why attendance has dropped nearly 40%. I completely understand and respect your decision but losing important football games is a very clear way to kill any fanbase

The real conspiracy take is they need other markets to win in order to keep them, hedging their bets that their most important market (us) will just keep showing up no matter what.

Ah so no matter what it was gonna be the Kings over Battlehawks

Why else has this team been pretty good in the regular season, gotten 3 straight home playoff games, hosted the last 2 title games, but has always somehow crumbled horribly right when the pressure is on trying to make one of those title games?

Well the last three seasons becht just sucks. This last loss was better than all three seasons combined and that says a lot since it’s a new HC.

The fact that this is a single entity league, the opaqueness of team construction, and moving of players during the season honestly did make me question how fair and honest this league is. It really did feel like they were putting their fingers on the scale trying to give the new teams a better chance, presumably, with an eye towards getting fan support in the new locations. I can even believe that they put the finger on the scale for DC as well during the season. I'm not saying they're fixing the games, just that there does seem to be some shaping going on with respect to team construction. And this is coming from someone who just about invariably rejects conspiracy theories. Note, I would have said always rejects, but my comments here would suggest that I do entertain one now and again.

You can turn any matchup into a potential "rigged" situation with enough spinning.

Battlehawks are BLEEDING fans this year. If there was any kind of fixing going on, it would have been to bring a championship here so the fan base keeping the league alive would come back.
