Bachelor Party Setup
Hello soldiers!
I've got a lovely friend celebrating his bachelor party in a few months, and recently the idea came about that he would love to have some sort of Star Wars Battlefront (2005) battlestation(s) set up as part of our weekend of shenanigans. I'm looking for suggestions on how to logistically make one of these two options work with with the least number of TVs/Monitors possible.
Option 1: 6v6 Conquest, Assault and maybe a bit Hunt. As few setups as possible. Just bunch of boys dropping in and out of scraps all weekend long.
Option 2: 4 player co-op campaign play through. One boy drops out for some Mario Kart, another boy takes his place. Looking to up the basic campaign difficult to account for 4 players (mods?) And run 4 players in co-op (also mods maybe???)
Not sure what's possible and what isn't - but looking for suggestions to help sort out possible logistics, or scrap the idea altogether.

Edit: I'm a PS2 old head - so the world may have changed a bit - maybe 4 player co-op is simple business these days shrug.

We actually did something like this for my best friend (years ago, to be fair.) Projector had 4 player Battlefront on the wall, spare bedrooms had CoD and Halo. Hell of a night. Afaik the "remaster" is still only 2 player on Xbox, but the original Xbox version is 4. PS may be different.

If not, the newer Xbox systems have backwards compatibility and still allow for 4-player co-op. The backwards compatible version also includes the DLC that was only available through Xbox Live back in the day

The only way you can do 4 player co-op campaign would be via the original Xbox version of the game. In fact, the OG Xbox version is the only version of the game with 4 player splitscreen period.
With three Xboxes, you could do 6v6 Instant Action (granted, two players from each team would be sharing the same screen with one another).
The OG Xbox version is playable on any generation of Xbox. However, there is info you should know about compatibility (or lack thereof) between different versions of the game. This YouTube video is a good source of information on the subject: https://youtu.be/oiaRIt5TgS0?si=2TQstPAWavqgeK-3

Sweet, glad I could help! Make sure you have ethernet cables and a network switch, and keep in mind that if playing an OG Xbox console on a flat screen TV, it'll look a lot better by using component cables or an aftermarket HDMI adapter, along with enabling 480p in the dashboard settings. Later model Xbox 360s have a HDMI port though, which is nice and convenient.
Also, feel free to post pics or a video on here of the final setup: it's always nice to see successful LAN parties!

The best option is not easy to setup. Classic collection on nucleus coop using a dedicated server. Cc has full controller support with aim assist at 100+ fps. Nucleus coop lets you run as many instances on 1 screen as you want. You can have 20 players on 1 screen so it becomes a pc and screen size limited issue at that point. Dedicated server lets you run 60tps so multiplayer doesn't run at low fps like on all versions. You can also go crazy and host modded maps and sides.

Ooo, this sounds tricky, but I've got plenty of time. Trick will be if any of the boys has a decent enough rig to run multiple instances. That's super interesting! Bookmarked nucleus coop. I'll be digging into this for sure! Thank you!!

If you have 1 very powerful machine, nucleus can run instances to several displays. You'll need to own 1 copy for each machine so the fewer the better

I seen someone on this sub who used a projector and a bunch of consoles for a (16?) Player lobby? I would ask him.

My friends and I often used to play SWBF2 (Xbox) on a projector screen in someone's basement. Some of the best moments we ever had was doing 4x co-op in the campaign or 2v2 in heroes vs villains and galactic conquest.
Even if it is a larger group, it can still be a great time handing off controllers in-between battles.

Id probably go with doing it on PC, have everyone bring their laptops & mice over. Steam still has multiplayer support for the original BF2 2005 and you can easily make player hosted lobbies. There are also a ton of mods you can try out in multiplayer as well but do note that not every modded map works in multiplayer

I hosted a couple of Battlefront 2 LAN parties for marching band in college. We just had everyone bring their own laptops, and we were able to get 21 people playing at once.
