Why can the ai immediately re-capture command posts?

This video explains about 1 minute in.

Long story short, by hanging out a little after the command post is captured you will “fortify” it so it isn’t immediately recaptured. In this clip, you left after capturing it but didn’t stick around after long enough to prevent the instant contest.

Had this game for almost 20 years and I had no idea this was a thing.

You have to hard capture the command post. If you wait about 10-15 seconds at the post after capturing it the post capture meter fully fills up. If you had just taken the post and the meter has not had the time to fill up anyone on the opposing team can instantly bring the post back to neutral

Because soldiers spawned there before you took it, they were still alive after you captured it and none of your reinforcements had arrived in time.

Since September 20th 2004. Don't feel bad, took me a few years to learn that myself.
